Our Abba’s House moms take over the kitchen on Wednesday to cook and serve lunch to the residents of Western Carolina Rescue Ministries! Not only do they prepare a delicious meal, but they also get the opportunity to build relationships, learn new skills, and experience the joy of serving others.

At Abba’s House, it’s about more than learning life skills, it’s about building confidence, creating connections, and discovering the beauty of community. We love seeing these beautiful women grow and share their gifts with others! 💕

What keeps someone in shelter?

Sometimes, finding a job isn’t the hardest part of rebuilding a life. Finding a safe, affordable place to call home is.

We see individuals who are working hard, making positive changes, and striving for a better future, yet face barriers to housing because of a criminal background, limited credit history, or financial challenges.

❤️ People want to change. They want to work, become independent, and have a place of their own. Sometimes, they just need someone to believe in them and give them a chance.

Your support provides a safe place to stay while individuals continue working, build savings, establish credit, and take steps toward a more stable future.

We are grateful for our dedicated staff who walk alongside each person, offering case management, advocacy, encouragement, and the resources they need to move forward.

✨ Together, we’re doing more than providing shelter. We’re helping people rebuild their lives, restore hope, and create a path toward independence.

Spreading Love, Sharing Joy, and Being the Hands and Feet of Christ ❤️

At Western Carolina Rescue Ministries, we believe that serving others is about so much more than meeting physical needs. It’s about sharing God’s love, bringing joy, and reminding our neighbors that they are seen, valued, and loved.

In this video, volunteer Kendra Cathey shares her heart for serving at the Rescue Mission, bringing her family alongside her, and teaching the next generation the importance of loving others through action. By serving together, Kendra and her family are living out what it means to be the hands and feet of Christ—sharing kindness, offering encouragement, and bringing hope to those who need it most.

We are so grateful for volunteers like Kendra who give their time, share their hearts, and remind us that even the simplest acts of love can make a lasting difference.

It was such a joy to welcome Chief Stepp and her family to Western Carolina Rescue Ministries today! It was wonderful to see her boys jump in and help serve meals to our residents and neighbors experiencing homelessness. We were also grateful to have Charles and his son serve today!

There is something special about seeing the next generation learn the importance of giving back, serving others, and showing compassion to those in need. These moments remind us that making a difference starts with a willing heart and a desire to love our neighbors well.

Thank you to all our volunteers who give their time and hearts to serve our community. Together, we are sharing hope, showing love, and changing lives! ❤️
