The Chamber is officially endorsing the Open Space Conservation and Housing Bonds that will be on the ballot this November. πŸ—³οΈ

Last week, the Asheville Chamber and the 30 business leaders who comprise the voting body of our Board of Directors voted to endorse the bond measures that will appear on the upcoming election ballot.

We’ve decided to put our support behind these county bonds because we believe they’ll help advance our short-term and long-term community goals. Communities across North Carolina have continued to use bonds to address a variety of community needs, and we believe that these two bonds will help Buncombe County continue to be a great place to live, work and play for all residents. 🏘️🌳

You can learn more about these bonds on Buncombe County's website: https://bit.ly/4gLUsa1 and by following Vote Yes on Bonds.

If work today feels like searching for needles in swirling, out-of-control haystacks, then Benji Burrell believes he's found your industrial-grade magnet. 🧲

The founder of Good People Technologies LLC stopped by the Chamber last week to share some of his favorite tips for implementing AI in your workplace. He understands that there's some hesitancy around this new technology, but he offered many practical (and affordable!) strategies for our members to consider. And the #1 problem he believes AI can help you solve is a deeply relatable one...πŸ“¬πŸ˜Ÿ

πŸŽ‰ A special announcement, courtesy of Venture Asheville πŸŽ‰

Today, we are thrilled to announce officially the second cohort of businesses joining Optimist Ventures. πŸ™Œ

Last week, the cohort held its first official meeting, and we witnessed the power of community in action. Speakers from Good People Technologies LLC, WLOS ABC 13, Mountain BizWorks and Seven Acres spoke with the new cohort about the resources available to them that can help their businesses grow and thrive. As these entrepreneurs and business owners already know, success always takes a group effort, and by becoming members of Optimist Ventures, they've joined a powerful community of like-minded peers and passionate mentors. 🀝

Please join us in congratulating and welcoming the members of Optimist Ventures Cohort 2!

At the Chamber, we want our entire WNC business community to stay informed and engaged this election season. πŸ—³οΈ

To that end, we'll be co-hosting a local candidate forum later this month featuring candidates for Buncombe County Commission, Asheville City Council and Asheville Mayor.

The forum will bring together organizations representing Asheville’s core economic sectors β€” including arts, small business, hospitality and tourism β€” to create a shared space for the candidates and the community to engage around the issues shaping our region’s future. We'll begin with informal networking and tabling in the lobby, followed by a moderated forum with candidate panels. 🎀

This event is free and open to the public, so register today to reserve your spot. You can register by following this link: https://bit.ly/4cwFgLw

A special thank you to our co-hosts and partners who are making this Candidate Forum possible: Arts AVL, Asheville Independent Restaurant Association, Go Local Asheville, and Asheville Buncombe Hotel Association.

This week's Innovation Summit was all about clarity. πŸ“Š

Clarity from national experts about crucial macroeconomic trends. Clarity from local entrepreneurs and business owners about how to define success. And clarity for all attendees about the futures of their respective companies and ventures.

It was a packed day of insights, networking and connections, and it was the perfect event to anchor Venture Asheville's 2026 Entrepreneurship Week. If you weren't able to attend, we hope to see you there next year!

Thanks so much to the sponsors and participants who made this year's Innovation Day possible: Baird, Viking Mergers & Acquisitions, Mountain BizWorks, UNC Asheville, Devil's Foot Beverage Co. and Sierra Nevada.

Your eyewear can make a statement β€” as long as you visit L'optique. πŸ‘“

Our recent ribbon cutting at their downtown Asheville location reminded us just how exceptional and unique their offerings are (or, as they so eloquently put it: "Unusual is a feature, not a flaw.") They take the time to learn about your unique style so that they can match you with a perfect and refined choice that accentuates your true self. After visiting, you won't look β€” or be looked at β€” the same way again. 😎
