What a wonderful and informative session for our Older Adults 55+ Seniors Program this week. We were thrilled to welcome German Chique-Alfonzo, Education Coordinator with The Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County for a deeply engaging presentation titled “Mind Your Brain Health.”

Our seniors had the opportunity to learn valuable insights into brain wellness, followed by a lively Q&A session where German answered everyone's thoughtful questions. We received such fantastic feedback from our participants, who left feeling well-informed and connected. Thank you to German and The Dementia Society for sharing your expertise with our community!

What a vibrant, colourful weekend celebrating love, diversity, and community at the Ottawa Pride Parade! Staff from NROCRC were proud to march alongside our incredible partners from the Coalition of Community Health and Resource Centres of Ottawa. From the dazzling costumes to the creative floats, the energy across the city was truly unforgettable.

Parade weekend is a wonderful celebration, but our commitment to these values continues every single day. Just like the parade route, our centre is dedicated to being a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for everyone. We believe whole-heartedly that everyone in our neighbourhood belongs, deserves respect, and should feel accepted exactly as they are. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate, support, and stand together for a stronger, more inclusive Ottawa!

Happy first day back to school to all the children, youth, and families starting school today in our community! We hope every student has a safe, happy, and exciting start to the new school year as they return to class today.

As our streets and sidewalks get busier with little ones walking, wheeling, and taking the bus, we kindly remind all drivers to take extra care. Please drive slowly, stay alert in school zones, and travel cautiously through our neighbourhoods to help keep everyone safe. Wishing all of our community members a fantastic year of learning and growth ahead!
