In Parashat Shelach, Moshe sends twelve spies to Canaan. Ten return afraid, while Caleb and Yehoshua stay confident. The people lose faith, and entering Israel is delayed forty years.

Food for the Soul: We mark 3 Tammuz, the Rebbe’s day of passing, and continue carrying his mission forward.

Mind Over Matter: Our purpose is not to escape the physical world, but to elevate it.

Moshiach Thoughts: The Mishkan in the desert teaches us to reveal Hashem even in low places.

Have I Got a Story: Yosef Mokir Shabbat honored Shabbat with everything he had — and was blessed in return.

This week we read Parshat Shelach.

Moshe sends twelve spies to the Land of Canaan. They return with beautiful fruits, but ten of them spread fear. Only Yehoshua and Caleb remind the people to trust in Hashem.

The people lose hope, and their entry into the land is delayed for forty years. The parsha ends with the mitzvah of tzitzit, a daily reminder of who we are and what we stand for.

Shelach reminds us that what we choose to see matters — fear can make a promised land feel impossible, but faith helps us move forward with courage, clarity, and trust.

In Parashat Behaalotecha, Aaron lights the Menorah and the Levites begin their service. A “Second Passover” is introduced for those who missed the original offering, the people journey from Sinai, and Moshe appoints seventy elders to help lead the nation.

Food for the Soul: On 25 Sivan, we remember three of the Ten Martyrs — sages who gave their lives for Torah and faith.

Mind Over Matter: Aaron was told to “raise” the flames of the Menorah — teaching us to inspire others until they can shine on their own.

Moshiach Thoughts: The Mishkan and its vessels were never truly lost and will return with the Third Beit Hamikdash.

Have I Got a Story: A mohel’s kindness before Yom Kippur brought him an endless blessing that lasted for years.

This week we read Parshat Behaalotecha.

Aaron lights the Menorah, the Levites begin their service, and the Torah introduces Pesach Sheni — a second chance for those who missed the Passover offering.

As the people travel from Sinai, challenges arise. Moshe appoints seventy elders to help lead, and when Miriam is punished, the entire nation waits for her healing.

Behaalotecha reminds us that every journey needs light, second chances, and patience for one another.

In Parashat Nasso, the Jewish people’s count is completed, the laws of sotah and nazir are given, and the kohanim are taught how to bless the people. The leaders of the twelve tribes each bring the same offering — yet the Torah describes each one separately.

Food for the Soul: On 15 Sivan, the Frierdiker Rebbe was arrested for spreading Jewish learning under Soviet rule — a powerful example of mesirut nefesh.

Mind Over Matter: Even when gifts look identical, each person brings their own intent and mission. Every soul has something only they can give.

Moshiach Thoughts: In the Geulah, every person will recognize the divine spark within them and their unique purpose.

Have I Got a Story: A student wondered if the Rebbe’s “standard” blessing was truly personal — until the Rebbe called him back and repeated it just for him.

This week, we read Parshat Nasso, after reading the special Torah portion for Shavuot last Shabbat.

Nasso completes the counting of the Jewish people in the desert and introduces several important laws, including the sotah, the nazir, and the beautiful blessing given by the kohanim.

The parsha also describes the offerings brought by the leaders of the twelve tribes for the inauguration of the altar. Though each gift was the same, the Torah describes each one separately — showing that every offering, and every person, carries its own unique meaning.

Nasso reminds us that even when we give the same, serve the same, or stand together as one people, each soul brings something precious that only they can give.
