Our Shelter on Carling Avenue hosted a Resource Fair, bringing community partners right into the shelter to connect with the women and gender-diverse people we serve.

A huge thank you to Housing Help Ottawa, Ottawa Public Health, Community Legal Services of Ottawa, the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program, Volunteer Ottawa, Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre, RespectRx Pharmacy, Ottawa HART Hub, Ottawa Public Library, Immigrant Women Services Ottawa, the Canadian Mental Health Association, iSisters, OCISO, and World Skills for showing up, sharing resources, and answering questions.

When we bring services closer to where people are, we make it easier to access support, build connections, and find new possibilities.

Join us for a special evening featuring award-winning chef Joe Thottungal, founder of Coconut Lagoon and Thali Ottawa in support of Cornerstone Housing for Women.

Chef Joe will lead an engaging Masterclass cuisine demonstration, sharing the vibrant flavours, traditions, and culinary secrets of Kerala and South Indian cuisine. The evening will conclude with a luxurious multi-course Kerala-inspired benefit dinner, paired with a traditional beverage.

Care starts with meeting people where they are. 💜

At Cornerstone, we welcome people where they’re at - without judgment, with dignity, and with care. We work with multiple organizations to bring services to our shelter and housing residences and better meet residents' needs.

For example, we partner with Ottawa Inner City Health to provide mental health, harm reduction and wellness services to residents.

We believe everyone deserves a home in a community that supports them to live with dignity, safety, and care.

Today, we’re celebrating the people who work hard every day to make Cornerstone a better place.

Meet Eslam, our General Maintenance Worker. From fixing what’s broken to helping keep our spaces safe, clean, and comfortable.

We are grateful to have maintenance workers who work behind the scenes every day to help make Cornerstone feel like home.
