Community kitchens happen about once a month hosted by MacLaren Towers (Ottawa Community Housing - OCH) and volunteers Marisa and Elaine. One was held on December 19 of last year when they prepared hearty lentil soup with garlic and cheese naan and shared some of Elaine's famous Christmas sweets!

Reminder to all using this community fridge and pantry:

We recently experienced a situation in which someone left quite a mess. Thank you Krista for cleaning it up!

Food left on the ground or in open containers is a primary attractant for rats and provides an easy meal that can lead to rapid rat population growth. If there is a large donation, some non-perishable food can be stored in the back.

Thank you for helping to keep the place clean! This a risk we accept when managing a site that is open 24/7.
