Maplewood Elementary has a new crew member!

Welcome, Mrs. Sonnier! We’re excited to have you! 👩‍🚀🚀💫

We are proud to share that Jolene Sonnier has been appointed the Assistant Principal of Maplewood Elementary School. Ms. Sonnier is a veteran educator with more than 18 years of experience as a teacher, literacy coach, and curriculum coordinator. She effectively supports teacher growth through coaching, modeling, co-teaching, and targeted feedback. Ms. Sonnier has successfully implemented RTI systems and data-driven processes that have led to gains in student achievement. She is known for handling complex situations with professionalism, empathy, and clear communication while maintaining a focus on student success. We are excited to have Ms. Sonnier serving the Maplewood Elementary School community!

We will be at Maplewood Elementary (auditorium entrance) on Sunday from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM for the following:

✅ Pick up your student's Summer Care shirt
✅ Drop off any pillows and blankets your child will need
✅ Pay your Summer Care registration fee if you have not already done so

We are super excited to formally announce the new Principal at Maplewood Elementary School, Wendy Bond. ❤️

Wendy Bond has been appointed the Principal of Maplewood Elementary School. Ms. Bond is a veteran educator with over 17 years of experience, including eight years as an Assistant Principal. She demonstrates strong instructional leadership, consistently using data, walkthroughs, and coaching cycles to support teacher growth and improve student outcomes. Ms. Bond is effective in building and sustaining a positive school culture, fostering pride, accountability, and strong relationships among staff, students, and families. She is recognized for her calm, solution-oriented leadership, especially in high-pressure situations, always prioritizing student safety and support. Skilled in data-driven decision making, Ms. Bond aligns instructional practices, RTI processes, and professional development to address student needs and support student achievement. We are excited to have Ms. Bond leading Maplewood Elementary School!

One last walk. One big milestone. ❤️🖤

Today we celebrated our incredible 5th graders as they made their final walk through the halls of Maplewood Elementary.

These students have left their mark on our school, and while we’ll miss them dearly, we know they are headed for amazing things. Once an Astro, always an Astro! 🚀✨
