Thank you to the Rotary Club Of Sulphur for honoring Fire Engineer Austin Mosack as "Hero without a Cape". Congratulations Engineer Austin Mosack!

We would like to recognize a firefighter who truly represents what the phrase “Hero Without a Cape” means.

In the fire service, being a hero isn’t just about the calls we run. It’s about the preparation, the commitment, and the willingness to grow so that when the moment comes, you are ready.

This member of the Sulphur Fire Department didn’t wait to be told to improve. He actively sought out training to become a better Driver/Operator, understanding the responsibility that comes with operating the apparatus and ensuring the safety of both his crew and the community.

Even more impressive, he looked beyond his current role. He pursued additional training ahead of others in the department, preparing himself for future opportunities and promotions. That kind of initiative shows dedication not only to personal growth, but to the strength and future of this department.

Heroes without capes are the ones who quietly put in the work when no one is watching, who prepare today so they can serve better tomorrow.

We would like to recognize that commitment, that initiative, and that professionalism by nominating Engineer Austin Mosack for a True Hero Without A Cape.

Sulphur Fire will be conducting live fire training at the West Cal Arena parking lot Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week. The training is the flashover prop hosted by Louisiana State Fire Marshals Fire & Emergency Training Academy. There will be smoke in the area depending on wind speed and direction during this training.
It will not be an all day training event. It should be for just a couple of hours in the mid to late morning each day.
