🏘️ COMPREHENSIVE ZONING ORDINANCE WORKSHOP 🏘️

The Land Use Commission of the City of Sulphur will hold a Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance workshop on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers in Sulphur, Louisiana, located at 501 Willow Avenue, Sulphur, LA. A copy of the proposed ordinance will be available at City Hall located at 101 North Huntington Street, Sulphur, La. or a link can be found on the city’s website at www.sulphur.org. The public is invited to attend.

Press Release – Lane and Road Closure

Due to a procession held by St. Francis de Sales Oratory, the following roads will be closed on Sunday, June 7th:

S. Ruth Street, from Cypress St to Bryan St

The following lanes will be closed on Sunday, June 7th:
Cypress St, northern-westbound lane from S. Ruth St to S. Huntington St
Bryan St, eastbound lane from S. Ruth St to S. Huntington St

Closures will be in effect from 11am to 1pm.

Please use caution when driving in this area, and detour, if possible.

Due to scheduled road repairs, the Northbound lane of S. Huntington St at the intersection of Church Street will be closed. These closures are expected to remain in effect for two weeks, or until completion.

During this time, S. Huntington St will be down to two lanes in this area. One lane will remain southbound; the second lane will serve as a northbound lane.

Please follow signage and use caution when driving in this area, and detour, if possible.

Due to scheduled road repairs, the Westbound lanes of Highway 90 between Willow Ave and Doiron St will be closed. These closures are expected to remain in effect for two weeks, or until completion.

During this time, Highway 90 will be down to two lanes. One lane will remain eastbound; the second lane will serve as a westbound lane.

Please follow signage and use caution when driving in this area, and detour, if possible.

Due to repairs being done in the area, residents on East Napoleon Street and Wasey Street may be experiencing lower than normal water pressure. The repairs are expected to last a few hours.

If you experience no water pressure at all, please contact the City of Sulphur Water Plant at 337-313-1153.
