Selma Area Food Bank The Selma Area Food Bank has been in operation since October 18,1993. It is our goal to stop hunger, right here at home. C, Selma, Alabama 36701.

We are a non-profit food bank proudly serving our neighbors in the battle against hunger and food insecurity in the Dallas, Marengo, Perry, and Wilxcox counties of Alabama since 1993. Through the years we have been able to distribute food to many people that otherwise would have gone hungry. Our service area includes 4 counties: Dallas, Wilcox, Marengo and Perry. We have almost 50 active agencies

that receive food from us and distribute to their community. The Selma Area Food Bank is a warehouse for bulk food items. The food comes from donations and local businesses. Our community is who has kept us going for so many years. We never take any donation for granted and appreciate all efforts to help the food bank grow. If you are looking for a worthwhile charity you have found a good one. We are all for sending help to the other needy areas of the world but there are things to be done here at home. Every $1 will provide 14 pounds of food. 14 pounds of food could be used to prepare several meals.Feeding America has made a huge effort to increase awareness of hunger in the United States. 🚨Stop #2 of the SAFB Advocacy Tour is in the books! 🚨

Loved getting to spend some time yesterday morning with Pastor Bailey Dawson and the good folks at Eagle Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Marion, Alabama (Perry County). They were working hard to get their Mobile pantry set up and underway before the rain set in.

🎉🥳We are thankful to have them, and all 55 of our partner agencies, serving their neighbors in the battle against hunger and food insecurity! 👏🎊

They were the first stop on our Summer Advocacy Tour this morning and were busy planning and prepping for their latest Mobile pantry event.

🎉🥳👏🎊🙌

The St. Paul United Methodist Church youth group from Louisville, Kentucky, rolled in on a big bus this week and left after making a BIG impact on our community and our food bank!

Here’s what all they did as they served at SAFB:
✅Built 1,080 boxes (will hold around 27,600 pounds of food for later packing events)
✅Sorted and salvaged around 5,000 pounds of food
✅Filled around 1,250 pounds of local agency orders
✅Helped load multiple agency pickups

They truly did it all during their time at SAFB!

Thanks so much to the Rotary Club of Selma coming out this week to serve our neighbors by building boxes for senior food distributions! They put together 160 boxes that will hold around 4,000 meals worth of food!
