Please see the grant opportunity for septic tank cleanouts below. The grant will pay 75% of the cost up to $500 to clean out a septic tank in the area in the screenshot below.

Auburn University has received grant funding from the Alabama Department of Environmental Management for Rain Ready Alabama, a statewide program that provides financial assistance, education, and workforce development to reduce nonpoint source pollution.

We are most excited about the Septic Pump Out program. Eligible septic system owners within qualifying watersheds may receive reimbursement for 75% of the pump-out cost, up to $500. Reimbursements are issued directly through the service provider. Time is limited on this program, and pumping must be completed by September 30th to qualify. This program is available to homeowners in these areas. Interested homeowners may apply here. Pumpers can also apply to participate in the program here.

Rain Ready Alabama also includes two more programs. One is the Low Impact Development & Green Infrastructure program that provides reimbursement for up to 75% of the costs of Low Impact Development projects to homeowners, businesses, and homeowners associations. The other is the Streambank Stabilization Program, which provides reimbursement of up to 75% of the cost of stabilizing and repairing eroded streambanks. More information about these programs is available on the Rain Ready Alabama website.
