Selma Police are currently investigating a child abuse case involving a 7-week-old infant.

Based on the investigation, Xavier One’ll Demond Franklin has been identified as the suspect and was arrested for Aggravated child abuse on April 8, 2026 in connection with the incident. Franklin is currently being held at the Perry County Detention Facility❗️

All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law❗️

On April 8, 2026, Selma Police responded to a report of a theft involving multiple air conditioning units from Northern Heights Presbyterian Church in Selma, Alabama.

Upon investigation, the reporting party advised that two AC units had been stolen and later reviewed surveillance footage showing two suspects loading the units into a black SUV.

The vehicle was identified through law enforcement databases as being associated with Victor Nichols. Surveillance footage and database information further linked Nichols to one of the suspects observed on camera. A second suspect was seen but had their face covered and remains unidentified at this time.

Victor Nichols bond: $90,000

On March 23, 2026, Selma Police responded to an incident involving a robbery!

During the investigation, property belonging to the victim was recovered from the suspect. The suspect, identified as Ronnie Jerome Stewart, was taken into custody after resisting arrest.

Stewart was charged with Robbery in the Second Degree and Resisting Arrest and was ordered held without bond.

Thomas was taken into custody without further incident.

On March 21, 2026, Selma Police responded to a report of a domestic-related vehicle incident involving an altercation between two individuals known to each other.

Upon investigation, it was reported that the suspect used a vehicle to intentionally strike and repeatedly ram the victim’s vehicle before leaving the scene. The suspect was later identified as Wayne Mason.

Mason was later located and arrested on April 3, 2026. He was charged in connection with the incident and held on a $30,000 bond.

On March 17, 2026, Selma Police responded to a disturbance involving an altercation between a store employee and an individual later identified as Tashaun Webb.

Upon investigation, Webb was taken into custody after witness statements and store video footage confirmed a physical altercation occurred inside a restricted employee area.

Webb was placed under arrest for Domestic Violence Strangulation, transported to the Selma Police Department for processing, and later held at Perry County Jail on a $15,000 bond.

On March 16, 2026, Selma Police took a report of a stolen 2020 Nissan Altima from an auto body shop located on Roosevelt Avenue.

The vehicle was observed on security footage leaving the property on March 15, 2026. It was later recovered on a residential lot in the area of High Street near Ceola Miller Street.

Through investigation, a juvenile suspect {AGES 13 and 15} was identified in connection with the incident and has been handled through the appropriate juvenile justice procedures.

On March 12, 2026, Selma Police responded to a reported burglary in progress in the 400 Block of Church St.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with a female inside the residence. Officers then spoke with the homeowner via a doorbell camera and cellphone, who confirmed that the individual was not known to him and did not have permission to be inside the residence.

Through further investigation, Tiasha Lattimore was identified as the suspect and was taken into custody. She was later charged with Burglary 3rd Degree.

On March 12, 2026, officers with the Selma Police Department responded to a 911 call in reference to an assault involving a shooting in the 400 block of Medical Center Parkway (Felix Heights Apartments).

Upon arrival, officers located Mr. Eric Winston (victim) suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported for medical treatment. During the investigation, officers gathered information from witnesses and processed the scene, which also included damage to a nearby residence.

Through investigative efforts, Lester Muse and Delanfort Corbin were identified as suspects in this case. Both individuals have since been taken into custody.

All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law❗️
