🤠🐾 THERE’S A NEW SHERIFF… WAIT, WRONG TOY! 😂🐾

“You’ve got a friend in me!” 🎶❤️

Everybody, meet SLINKY! 🐶

Yep, just like Slinky Dog from Toy Story! And wouldn’t you know it, he’s even got the little legs to match! 😂

Slinky is a handsome little Dachshund mix! Mixed with what? Well, that’s still a mystery to us! But we’re pretty confident there’s some Wiener Dog in there somewhere! 🌭🐾

He’s estimated to be around 6–7 months old, so he’s still got a little growing left to do. However, we’re thinking he’ll stay on the smaller side!

Now, Slinky isn’t too worried about being the fastest dog in Andy’s toy box. This little fella has a much more important job…

BEING THE BABY! 🥹❤️

He absolutely LOVES being carried around and toted like a little baby! If you’ve got two arms and a little extra love to give, Slinky says he’s accepting applications! 😂💕

🩺 SLINKY’S DOGGY RESUME:

🐾 Male | Dachshund Mix
🐾 Approximately 6–7 months old
🐾 Still has a little growing to do
💉 3 rounds of puppy vaccinations
💊 5 consecutive days of dewormer
❤️ Too young for heartworm testing at our facility
🩺 Still needs his rabies vaccination and a trip to the vet to complete his vetting!

🏡 AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ADOPTION ONLY!

Slinky is NOT available for same-day adoption. He’ll be ready to head to his forever home once his required vetting is completed!

And just like the toys in Andy’s room, Slinky is hoping to find somebody who will love him forever. 🥹❤️

📞 INTERESTED IN PRE-ADOPTING SLINKY?

Please contact Lauderdale County Animal Control directly at 731-836-7387 for more information about our pre-adoption process.

⚠️ Please CALL rather than message or email, as messages and emails can get filtered or overlooked.

🤠 Somebody come get this little Slinky Dog before he convinces the entire kennel staff that he’s a newborn baby who needs to be carried everywhere! 😂❤️

🐾 You’ve got a friend in Slinky!

🏡🐾 ONCE UPON A TIME… THERE WERE THREE LITTLE PUPS! 🐾🏡

Not three little pigs, not three little houses… just three sweet boys with one very big wish. ❤️

🐶 The first little pup said,
“I don’t need a castle, just a cozy place to sleep.”

🐶 The second little pup said,
“I don’t need a kingdom, just someone to love me.”

🐶 The third little pup said,
“I don’t need much… just someone to pick me!”

And so, the three little pups waited… and waited… 🥹

While others found their happily ever afters, these three boys are still patiently waiting for theirs.

📖 Maybe YOU are the missing chapter to their story!

Come meet our three little pups at Lauderdale County Animal Control! ❤️

✨ The End? Not quite… their happily ever after is still waiting to be written. 🏡🐾

🐾😂 SUNDAY FUNDAY: THE NICKNAME CHALLENGE! 🐶❤️

Alright, Lauderdale County, we have a VERY important question for y’all this Sunday! 👀

Does anybody actually call their dog by their REAL name anymore?! 🤣

Because we have a feeling that somewhere out there, a dog named Bella is answering to Belly Bean, Tater Tot, Stinky Butt, and Princess Fluffy Pants. 😂👑

And don’t even get us started on the baby voices we use when talking to them! 🤦‍♀️🤣

🐶 SO HERE’S TODAY’S CHALLENGE!

👇 Tell us your dog’s REAL name and then tell us what you ACTUALLY call them!

📸 Bonus points if you drop a picture of the little troublemaker!

We want to hear the funniest, sweetest, and most ridiculous nicknames you’ve come up with! 😂❤️

Meanwhile, our shelter dogs are over here waiting for their forever families to give them approximately 47 nicknames of their own. 🥹🐾

🏡 Don’t forget! We have some wonderful dogs waiting for their forever homes, and your next best friend might just be one of them!

🐾📝 SATURDAY SHELTER NOTES 📝🐾
Volume 1 • Issue 1 | October 24, 2026
Little updates, big moments, and everything in between at Lauderdale County Animal Control.

Well, y’all… if these kennel walls could talk, they would have PLENTY to say about this week! 😂❤️

It has been one busy, eventful, and wonderful week here at LCAC, and we thought we would share a little bit of it with you!

🐾 14 dogs were pre-adopted!
🐾 7 dogs were tagged for rescue!
🐾 7 lucky pups got to go HOME! 🏡❤️

And somewhere in between all that excitement, we had some wonderful donations, lots of visitors, and people stopping by just to ask how they could help us better care for our pups. Those little things mean more to us than you know!

We even had a special visit from the famous Captain and Tineal! 🥹❤️ they was part of Mr. Terry’s early years as director here, so visits like these are extra special. Mr. Terry and the rest of our crew absolutely LOVE when our former shelter pups stop by to say hello!

Now, as for the kennel crew… 😂

Our little pups had Maddie and Charleen running what felt like a full 5K the other day! 🏃‍♀️🐕 Let’s just say the puppies got their exercise, and so did we!

And Ms. Pam? Well… Ms. Pam had to have a serious conversation with herself about NOT bringing home another Chihuahua! 😂❤️

Needless to say, there is never a dull moment around here!

💌 A little thought from our shelter to you…

Sometimes, making a difference doesn’t mean doing something big. Sometimes it’s sharing a post, dropping off a donation, stopping by to visit, or simply showing kindness to animals who haven’t had much of it.

Every adoption, every rescue, every helping hand, and every kind word reminds us why we do what we do.

We may be a small shelter, but thanks to the people who support us, some pretty big things happen inside these walls. ❤️

Until next Saturday,
With love, wet noses, and probably a little dog hair,
🐾 Your LCAC Crew ❤️
