It was an honor and a privilege to attend President Donald Trump’s roundtable on the Memphis Safe Task Force.

It’s been said that when Memphis sneezes, West TN gets a cold.

Memphis has been a great American city—and with focused, aggressive public safety work, it can and will be great again.

Thank you to President Donald J. Trump and to our federal, state, and local law enforcement partners who are working every day to restore order, protect families, and push back against that lawlessness.

Today we had the privilege of swearing in Hank Clower as an Assistant District Attorney General, and we are pleased to welcome him to our team in the 25th Judicial District. Hank has litigated many cases in many courts in our District, and he will be a great asset to our Public Safety efforts across the 25th Judicial District.

Hank began his service in Tipton County today before heading to court in Lauderdale County. We are proud to have him on board. Welcome, Hank!

Thank you to our law enforcement, who were aptly described by our Tennessee Supreme Court in State of Tennessee vs. Kenneth McCormick (May 10, 2016):

“Police officers wear many hats: criminal investigator, first aid provider, social worker, crisis intervener, family counselor, youth mentor and peacemaker, to name a few. They are charged with the duty to protect people, not just from criminals, but also from accidents, natural perils and even self-inflicted injuries. We ask them to protect our property from all types of losses—even those occasioned by our own negligence. They counsel our youth. They quell disputes between husband and wife, parent and child, landlord and tenant, merchant and patron and quarreling neighbors. Although they search for clues to solve crime, they also search for missing children, parents, dementia patients, and occasionally even an escaped zoo animal. They are society's problem solvers when no other solution is apparent or available."

We recently had the privilege of swearing in Alanda Dwyer as an Assistant District Attorney General, and we are pleased to welcome her to our team in the 25th Judicial District. Alanda brings more than three decades of prosecutorial experience, having handled cases ranging from misdemeanors to capital trials. Her depth of expertise will significantly strengthen our Public Safety efforts across the 25th Judicial District.

She began her service in Tipton County on Monday and was already in court in McNairy County today. We are proud to have her on board. Welcome, Alanda!
