The 142nd Force Support Squadron bid farewell to their commander, Lt. Col. Heather Bashor and welcomed Maj. Angie Hayes as their new commander during a change of command ceremony. Maj. Hayes' latest assignment was at the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam where she served as the bilateral affairs officer managing joint forces programs and cyber capacity building. Lt. Col. Bashor will go on to serve as the director of manpower and personnel at Joint Forces Headquarters in Salem, OR. Congratulations, ladies!

The ceremony recognized individuals who have been promoted to the rank of Staff Sgt. and Master Sgt. over the past year. The 142nd Operations Group Section held a farewell ceremony for the 116th Air Control Squadron this month on what was the last drill weekend for the remaining members of the historic unit known as the Longracks. The 116th ACS, which first came to the Oregon Coast in Warrenton, Oregon as a tactical air squadron, has been re-missioned, and is currently converting into two new cyber warfare squadrons. Their formal and official conversion to the 116th Cyber Operations Squadron and the 153rd Cyber Operations Squadron will occur later this calendar year.

The 142nd Wing's 123rd Fighter Squadron has dropped bombs for the first time in its history! Members of the Operations Group and Maintenance Group traveled to Idaho with the new F-15EX multi-role fighter and proved a new capability of the novel jet as the wing continues to pave the way for the US Air Force.
