As we wrap up , it’s the perfect time to reflect on what makes Oregon such a standout in the wine industry. 🍷✨

With over 1,000 wineries, 23 distinct growing regions, and a reputation as the third-largest wine-grape-producing state in the U.S., it’s no wonder our state has earned its place on the global wine map! From the vineyards of the Willamette Valley to the breathtaking landscapes of Southern Oregon, Oregon continues to set the bar for quality and innovation in winemaking.

In 2024, Oregon’s wine industry brought $8.487 billion into the economy. Over 1,535 growers produced a total crop value of $329.1 million, with 47,343 planted acres of which more than 610 are estate vineyards, and 39,178 acres harvested.

Beyond crafting amazing wines, Oregon wineries play a vital role in creating jobs, fostering sustainable agricultural practices, encouraging tourism, and supporting the hospitality industry.

Last year, the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (OLCC) approved licenses for 1,168 new businesses. This included 879 bars and restaurants opening their doors, along with 110 new businesses creating locally crafted beer, wine, cider, and spirits. 🍻🍷The hospitality market also saw 14,939 businesses renew their annual licenses in 2025. The OLCC recognizes the vitality of the hospitality industry and its beneficial impact to Oregon’s economy and identity. Our staff works directly with businesses to ensure that Oregon’s bars and restaurants are safe and representative of Oregon’s Way.

Join the Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs for Oregon’s annual Statewide Memorial Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 25, at the Oregon State Capitol State Park in Salem.

The ceremony honors Oregon’s fallen service members from all eras and will include remarks from dignitaries, a color guard, wreath laying, the national anthem and the playing of “Taps.”

The celebration will be hosted at the Oregon State Capitol State Park, located directly across the street from the front entrance of the Oregon State Capitol Building, 900 Court Street NE in Salem. ¡Feliz Cinco de mayo! 🎉

Cinco de mayo marks Mexico's victory at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Today we're talking about Mezcal Poblano, a spirit from Puebla, Mexico, the region at the center of Cinco de mayo's history.

Mezcal is made from cooked agave, and Puebla is one of the Mexican states include in mezcal's protected Denomination of Origin. That means this spirit is connected not only to the place the holiday began, but to a spirit with deep regional roots.

Celebrate responsibly and explore available mezcal options by visiting Oregon Liquor Search : https://www.oregonliquorsearch.com/home.jsp
