Seger Park is a beautiful multi-use neighborhood park, Tennis, Basketball, Playground, Dog RUn in the heart of Center City Philadelphia. Seger Park Advisory Council (S**C) traditionally meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7p.m. inside the building. S**C consists of volunteers and community members who are interested in the good of the park. If you would like to participate, please consider joining in at the meetings. The schedule of the meetings for the remainder of 2026 are listed. If the meeting is cancelled or rescheduled, a posting will be placed in the cabinet and a message will be posted on the page for Seger Park.

PPR would like to express gratitude for the 10+ years of dedicated service and unwavering efforts on behalf of the Seger Park Advisory Council: Andrew Freedman, Nancy Freedman, Yvonne Novak, Brittany McGraw, John Sharp and April Gamache. Their accomplishments included the following:

2025 • Pickleball Meetup over 500 players engages• Jylan A. hired for daily park maintenance.• Historical sign attached to the building • Windscreens on tennis courts were damaged by graffiti. They were removed and will be replaced in the spring • After many years, S**C convinced the Parks and Rec to fix the water fountain drainage. At the end of November, Parks and Rec began work on fixing the fountain. The work was completed by the end of the year

2024 • Water fountain timer installed • Zoom Drain video inspection • Giannone Plumbing fountain infrastructure work • Court Reserve system was established • Outdoor table tennis set purchased • Tennis court vinyl fence and windscreens installed • Paving from the tennis area to around the fountain

2023 • LED tennis court lights installed• Four park benches added • Tot lot / Kiddie area resurfaced with Synlawn • Power wash playground equipment • Rec center exterior and tennis wall repaired and painted• 100th Anniversary sign designed and installed

2022 • Resurfaced tennis and basketball courts

2021–2023 • McFarland tree trimming

2017-2019 • Vandal lights installed • LED String lights installed • Zoom Drain-Vacuum truck service camera inspection • Installed Tetherball • Installed new carpeting in the rec center front hallway • Windscreens installed for tennis courts • Expanded pickleball to four courts with painted lines and two Meetup nights per week • Began table tennis program • Purchased snowblower: • Paved grassy area behind rec center for backboard practice area

• Park perimeter iron fence painting • Volunteers painted the Rec Center exterior • Pickleball started with two courts assisted in measuring and painting lines • Pickleball Meetup started • Love Your Park Day – started and continues every fall • Darlene Alston was hired as a summer assistant
