Veterans, police, fire, elected officials, and citizens gathered in the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 in the park. Rep Tarik Khan delivered a message and played "Taps" Philly Rhythm Drum School performed the military reveille "Three Camps," MISSION BBQ was on hand with free samples, and Bryan Parr and The Blind Date rounded out the event with their elegant renditions of R&B and Soul hits from the 60's to present.

On the 25th Anniversary of 9/11, we will gather in the park under the guidance of the 21st Ward Veterans Association, for a ceremony and prayer vigil. After the vigil, local drum corp Philly Rhythm Drum School will perform "The Three Camps," a traditional military piece, and pick up the tempo to open the stage to Rhythm and Blues masters Bryan Parr and the Blind Date. Wonderful day at this year's Music Jamboree! New Ridge Brewing Co.'s b**r garden was packed, Frios NW Philly kept it cool, and Jacklyn McBeth satisfied the appetites. Another annual favorite happens THIS Saturday, September 5, from 2PM-9PM. The Music Jamboree and New Ridge Brewing Co. B**r Garden is back and better than ever with new act David Fishkin and Righteous Organ Groove, and returning favorites Mitchell Street Phillbillies, Odyssey: Rhythm Blues and Soul, and Big Jangle, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers tribute band. The Friends of Gorgas Park Family Fundraiser is back for 2026!

We are officially kicking off this year’s campaign, and our community is already stepping up. Before the official launch, generous Families & Friends had already donated $3,000.

Last year, our community contributed more than $7,000. This year, our goal is $10,000.

That support helps FOGP invest approximately $30,000 in Gorgas Park this year, including concerts and community programming, planting and maintaining our beautiful gardens, and upgrades to the park.

If you appreciate having a beautiful, active park right here in our community, please consider supporting the nonprofit work of Friends of Gorgas Park.
