As Donald Trump campaigned with GOP Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith in Mississippi this week, Scott Colom, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, used Trump’s rally to speak directly with voters and hear their concerns.

Colom walked up and down the line that had formed outside the rally, talking with Mississippians about money in politics, caring for our veterans, and protecting our privacy.

This is how Democrats are winning back voters: one conversation at a time.

“I was reminded that more unites us than divides us here in Mississippi,” Colom shared. “When I’m elected to the U.S. Senate, I’ll represent every Mississippian—whether you voted for me or not.”

He’s right. Democrats across the country aren’t ceding any state, county, or voters to Republicans.

We are talking to everyone—even in red states like Mississippi—because when we win back power, we will fight for all working people.
