expand our reach beyond the borders of the state.

๐Ÿš Transportation professionals from across the country gathered in Omaha May 11โ€“13 for CTAA EXPO 2026 โ€” one of the community transportation industryโ€™s premier annual events!

Arkansas Transit Association Safety & Training Director Brandon Wood attended the conference, which featured educational sessions, legislative updates, networking opportunities, and a large trade show showcasing the latest innovations and technology in transit.

Brandon also represented ATA during a special meeting of state transit association leaders, helping strengthen ATAโ€™s connections and collaboration with transit organizations nationwide. ATAโ€™s continued partnership with CTAA and participation in EXPO allows us to stay informed on national trends, share best practices, and bring valuable ideas and resources back to Arkansas transit agencies. ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿš Jonesboro Transit Reimagined! ๐Ÿš

The City of Jonesboro has officially unveiled GOJO โ€” the new name and brand for its public transit system, formerly known as JET!

This exciting rebrand reflects a renewed vision for public transportation in Jonesboro, with continued fixed-route and paratransit services, including routes serving the campus of Arkansas State University. Enhancements include new bus shelters, digital signage, and upgraded app- and web-based trip planning tools designed to improve accessibility and convenience for riders.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ โ€œGOJO isnโ€™t just a name change, itโ€™s a reimagining of what public transit means for Jonesboro,โ€ said Mayor Harold Copenhaver.

Congratulations to the GOJO team on this exciting new chapter! ๐Ÿ‘

ATA was well represented at the 2026 South West Transit Association (SWTA) Annual Conference & Expo in Albuquerque, NM, March 31โ€“April 2. ATAโ€™s Brandon Wood was in attendance, as were Razorback Transitโ€™s Adam Waddell, Ozark Regional Transitโ€™s Joel Gardner, and GOJOโ€™s (formerly Jonesboro Economical Transportation) Lee Wells and Ryan Brasher. Attendees participated in a wide range of educational sessions covering current and emerging issues in public transportation, while also taking advantage of peer networking opportunities and engaging with vendors showcasing the latest products and services. Membership in and engagement with organizations like SWTA continues to deliver tremendous value for ATA and its members.

Waddellโ€”who serves on both the ATA (Vice President) and SWTA Boardsโ€”delivered the Arkansas state update at the SWTA Awards Gala and contributed as a panelist in a session focused on transit on university campuses, sharing insights and best practices from his work with Razorback Transit. Reflecting on the conference, he said, โ€œI am always pleased to speak about the great things we are accomplishing in Arkansas. Sharing our experience in providing public transit service at the stateโ€™s flagship higher education institution is always exciting. Membership in the Southwest Transit Association not only gives us the chance to learn from peers in the other seven member states, but also allows us to inform the Federal Transit Administration and our elected legislators about both our successes and the challenges we face.โ€
