Buying your first home can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to figure it out alone. Join us Thursday, September 10 from 5:30-6:30 PM in the Lecture Hall at Laman Library for a free workshop with Cory Walker from Centennial Bank Mortgage.

You'll learn how to figure out what you can realistically afford, the difference between pre-qualified and pre-approved, the most common types of mortgage loans, and what to expect on closing day. There will be time for questions too.

Whether you're buying soon or just starting to plan, this workshop will help you feel ready to take the next step.

Destigmatizing Green: Industry Talk With Potluck Food Rescue

What exactly is a "green" career? Join us Thursday, September 10 from 5-6 PM in Laman Library to hear from Chris Wyman and Potluck Food Rescue on green-flavored careers and urban agriculture.

This is the first in a new monthly series exploring green career pathways, from urban agriculture and nonprofits to drones, engineering, forestry, trades, and more. Whether you're a teen exploring future career options or an adult considering a pivot, this talk is for you.

The Destigmatizing Green program series is supported in part by a grant from the PPG Foundation.

Ladies First Book Club, presented in partnership with Ebony Read, is all about giving women a reason to pause and take time for themselves.

Join us Thursday, September 10 from 5-6 PM at William F. Laman Public Library in the Laman Gallery. We'll spend 30 minutes reading whatever book you're currently into, then settle in for a conversation with guest speaker Amanda Mills, a Licensed Professional Counselor, about why rest actually matters. For adults ages 19+.

Bring a book, bring yourself, and take the hour.

September 5 is Bring a Buddy to the Library Day, and we're celebrating Library Card Sign Up Month with a temporary tattoo station for all ages!

Stop by The Lift at Laman Library from 10 AM to 12 PM and pick out a matching tattoo with your buddy, or go solo with a design all your own. While you're at it, why not sign up for a library card or renew yours? It's not required, but it's the perfect way to join in the spirit of the season. All ages welcome!
