We provide many events, programs and sports for the Community of North Berwick for all ages! We have other pop up events during the rest of the year! The NB Rec.

We run events such as the Halloween Howler, Christmas Tree Lighting, and our Easter Event. Our largest even being the Mill Field Festival which will be September 10th, 2022. Dept. runs/helps sports programs such as: Babe Ruth Baseball, Fall Soccer which is a huge program, P*e Wee Wrestling, we help the NBAA Organization. The Parks and Recreation Department is also in charge of the different parks in town. The Mill Field Area, Bruce Abbott Park on Bauneg Beg Lake, the Canal Street area and several other parks areas. All the cemeteries around town too. The baseball field named Guptill Field is also maintained by the NB P&R Dept. We have a beautiful Community Center that we rent out as well for our residents, and non-residents too! We are proud to offer a lot of Community Service Hours for the students at MSAD #60 in many of our programs. If you or your child needs any please just call Kaylyn Bell. We also have an incredible Summer program! The North Berwick Summer Camp Program is the largest program we run! We usually have 85 campers who attend! Volunteers are always welcome!

I’ve been processing (and cleaning up from) Saturday’s event the last couple days and I’m still incredibly overwhelmed at the turnout of people.

Thank you everyone for coming out and supporting this community event. There were so many incredible tents that evening. I wasn’t able to get photos of all of them, but they were fantastic!!!!

We couldn’t have asked for a better weather night; not sure how we got so lucky there, but we’ll take it! 😁

To every single person who had a hand in making this night possible, THANK YOU!!! From helping with building and trail prep, to the participants for the Tent or treat, those who let us borrow your props or tools, or coming into the read during the Witch’s story time, I am grateful!!!

To my Haunted Trail Task Force … INCREDIBLE JOB!!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I couldn’t be more proud of the help you provided to each other, managing tools, getting pallets moved, coming in to brainstorm, getting there early for makeup, and to all of you who showed up for cleanup Sunday. We were able to get it accomplished in 2 hours !! this trail would not be possible if it wasn’t for you all giving your time! And to the parents who got you there, thank you so much!!!!

It’s not easy to scare people continuously for an hour and 45 minutes, but you all did an amazing job and you should be proud of yourselves!
In that timeframe, we were able to get almost 500 people through the trail. AMAZING JOB!

TODAY HAS ARRIVED! Excitement is an understatement!!! 👻🎃😁

A few things:
Be SLOW and cautious pulling into the parking lot tonight, safety is top priority across the board.

The trail is set to open at 6, but be patient if it takes a few extra minutes. There is to be no one going in beforehand. They have worked incredibly hard and appreciate your patience waiting in line. Be mindful, most of the people on the trail as scare actors are teenagers, so be respectful.

There is uneven ground, (it is a wood’s trail)- Mother Nature has her own decorations! 😁

We light it as best as we can but just remember that there are some dark spaces.

Most importantly, and any of the kids who know me will verify, my #1 rule is to HAVE FUN! 🎃

It’s very late, but we’ve had a very looooong day getting things ready for tomorrow! However, I did say that I was announcing the winners of the Halloween coloring contest today!!! 🎃👻

ALL 31 entries were AMAZING and it was very hard for us all to pick! I’m not sure I can handle doing another coloring contest because it was soooo hard to choose! 🥹🎃😁

Come out tomorrow night to take a peek at these works of art for yourself, and all of the ones that were entered!!!

Our Halloween Coloring Contest winners are almost here! 👻🧡🖍️

After several days of careful deliberation, lots of AMAZING entries to look through, and the help of several community members who volunteered their time to help me judge, Im finally ready to announce our winners! 🏆

✨ Winners from each division will be announced TOMORROW! ✨

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who participated and shared their creativity. You made this contest so much fun, and choosing our winners was no easy task! 🧡🖤

Though there will be only one winner from each division, I have decided to showcase all of these amazing pieces of art during the Halloween Spooktacular around the room in the Main Hall! They’re too good not to share with everyone! The winners will be framed for an added bonus and you’ll be able to collect your prize there or from me next week! 😁
