🎃 Happy Halloween from New Lebanon Fire Department! 🚒👻

The bay doors are open, and the candy is set out! While you’re out trick-or-treating tonight, be sure to stop by Station 69 to show off your costumes, say hello to the crew, and grab some sweet treats right off the front bumper! 🍬🍫

A quick reminder to all our ghosts, goblins, and superheroes:

🎃Stay visible with glow sticks, flashlights, or reflective tape.

👻Always cross at crosswalks and look both ways.
Drivers, please use extra caution and drive slowly through neighborhoods.

We can’t wait to see your costumes—stay safe and have a spooktacular night! 🚒🎃👻

⏰ Change Your Clocks. Check Your Batteries. 🔋

When you set your clocks back this weekend, make sure your home's smoke alarms are ready to protect your family:

🔹 Press to test: Test every smoke and CO alarm to ensure the siren sounds.

🔹 Check the battery type: Newer alarms often have 10-year sealed batteries and don't need changing—just testing. If your unit takes standard removable batteries, swap in fresh ones.

🔹 Check the manufacture date: Smoke alarms expire after 10 years! If the date on the back is 10+ years old, it’s time for a replacement unit.

EVENT CANCELLED | Blood Drive Update & Urgent Call for Donors 🚒🩸

Please be advised that our upcoming community blood drive originally scheduled at the New Lebanon Fire Department for Friday, December 11, 2026, has been cancelled by the American Red Cross.

If you already reserved a donation slot through RedCrossBlood.org or the Blood Donor app, that appointment is no longer active.

⚠️ Critical Blood Need — We Still Need Your Help
While our station drive cannot take place as planned, hospitals and trauma centers across our region face a critical, urgent need for blood and platelets.

Every single donation can help save up to three lives. If you intended to donate at our drive or have been waiting for the right moment to step up, please schedule an appointment at another local drive nearby:

* Online: Visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter your zip code.
* App: Download and book through the Red Cross Blood Donor App.
* Phone: Call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

Future Drive Plans
We are actively working with the Red Cross regional coordinators to get a replacement drive scheduled at the station for mid-2027. Once that date is locked in, we will share the new registration links immediately.

Thank you to everyone who planned to roll up their sleeves with our crew. Please consider redirecting that life-saving gift to another local drive this week!

Blood donors report feeling a sense of great satisfaction after making their blood donation. Why? Because helping others in need just feels good. Donate blood today to help those in need.
