This was received in the office this morning by a resident. I haven't heard of any other sightings yet. Be safe and keep an eye out on one another.
- Just a heads up if you are walking on the path. This is the first time I've heard anything like this, but its always good to be safe.
Out of an abundance of caution, I wanted to report spotting a dog-like animal, possibly coyote, up on Tecumseh Trail east of Geroge Road at 11 am today (the wooded portion of the trail.) I noticed a creature wandering through the woods below the easement on my walk out, but did not get a good look at it. Later, on my return walk to town, it was wandering around on the trail by itself ahead of me. I wasn't close enough to make clear ID whether dog or coyote but it was large and appeared to be black from a distance. I grabbed some fallen tree branches just to make myself appear bigger to him. He spotted me and loped back into the woods. I've been walking the trail 4years and that was the first time I was ever afraid. I thought I'd report it in case it can be corroborated by someone else.
