A special evening celebrating the women who helped shape Child Crisis Arizona!

We loved welcoming back the incredible women who have played such an important role in Child Crisis Arizona’s history, including those who helped bring our galas to life over the years. Our Friends Reunion was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect, share memories and reflect on the people who have helped make our mission what it is today.

As we look ahead to 50 years of protecting childhood in Arizona, we’re grateful for the friendships, dedication and generosity that have been part of our story from the beginning.

Keep Halloween fun, festive and safe! 🎃

Halloween is full of spooky fun, but keeping little trick-or-treaters safe is the sweetest treat of all! Here are a few ways to help your family enjoy a safe night of trick-or-treating:

🧡 Check costumes: Choose well-fitting costumes to prevent trips and falls. Face paint can be a safer alternative to masks that limit visibility.

🚸 Stay together: Adults should accompany children under 12. Remind kids to look both ways, use crosswalks and follow traffic signals.

🔦 Be visible: Add reflective elements to costumes, carry flashlights or glow sticks, and make sure children can be seen by drivers.

🚗 Drive with care: Slow down in residential neighborhoods, turn on your headlights early and avoid distractions behind the wheel.

A little extra care can help everyone enjoy a Halloween filled with treats, laughter and happy memories!

“I don’t feel ready to be a mother.”

When Maria first connected with Child Crisis Arizona’s Early Head Start program, she was a pregnant teenager experiencing homelessness and uncertain about what the future would hold.

With the support of her Family Support Specialist, Maria began to build confidence in herself and her ability to care for her daughter, Sofia. Through home visits, guidance and encouragement, she learned to recognize Sofia’s needs, celebrate her milestones and trust her instincts as a mother.

Fourteen months into the program, Maria was asked how she felt about motherhood. Her answer? She felt strong. She felt ready.

Today, 20-month-old Sofia is thriving, curious and eager to learn, supported by a mother who has grown in confidence with every step of their journey together.
Early Head Start helps parents build the skills, confidence and connections they need to support their children’s healthy development from the very beginning.

Every parent deserves the support to grow in confidence, and every child benefits from a strong start.
