Mesa’s voter approved 2012 Park Bond included funding for the design of an urban open space in the heart of downtown. City Center (NEC of Center and Main) will be anchored by a signature public space that offers programmed and passive space that will encourage informal gatherings, as well as being able to serve as event space. The signature public space will be a key element in the activation of t

he downtown core and will be a catalyst for high intensity redevelopment surrounding City Center with a variety of uses that activate the public space and will improve the quality of life for Mesa residents, businesses and visitors. The City has contracted with three independent design teams to each prepare a conceptual design for City Center. However, before these design can be developed, the design teams need your input. Please join us for a design workshop on May 21st at the Mesa Convention Center, Palo Verde Room, 263 N. There is an afternoon (12:30 PM) and evening (5:00 PM) session available to accommodate your schedule. The event is open to the public, but RSVPs are encouraged (visit http://mesaaz.gov/BetterMesa/CityCenter/default.aspx to register).
