House of Refuge, Inc. House of Refuge is a nonprofit organization in Arizona that provides safe, stable housing and supportive services for families experiencing homelessness.

Situated on nearly 20 acres in Southeast Mesa, our program offers 82 two-bedroom single family homes and a chapel/support center which allows us to provide a stable, family-friendly environment to program participants. On any given day approximately 100 adults and 150 children call House of Refuge “home.” Many come from a history of domestic violence and children often are the innocent victims. To us, a safe home and community is vital.

Robert Allen and Garbage Guy Inc. Junk Removal team spent two days delivering a large furniture donation to House of Refuge, helping provide much-needed items for the families we serve. We are grateful for the time, effort and coordination it took to make this possible. We also want to thank ASU for making these items available to be repurposed and put to meaningful use in our community.

Because of thoughtful partners like Robert, The Garbage Guy team and ASU, donated furniture can become part of a fresh start for families working toward stability and independence. Thank you for helping us turn a donation into dignity, comfort, and care for our residents.

A huge thank you to Cyclic Materials for coming out to serve at House of Refuge again! We are grateful to Damian, James and the Cyclic Materials team for generously giving their time and energy to help with several important projects on our campus. Their team painted one of our homes and offices. The amount of work they completed made such a meaningful difference for our staff, our neighborhood and the families we serve.

We were honored to welcome Grand Knight Rick Pace, Financial Secretary Steven Taverna, and Knight Rob Padilla to our campus on Friday as they presented House of Refuge with a check from their recent fundraiser. A huge thank you to Steadfast Home School Co-op! Teacher Hollie Darrin’s class recently hosted a Birthday Box Drive and put together 15 birthday boxes for the kids in our program.

These thoughtful boxes will help make birthdays feel extra special for children and families working toward stability and self-sufficiency. We are so grateful for the kindness, generosity, and care shown by these students.

"Being here has given me peace. I’m not worried about whose couch I’m going to have to jump to next. Seeing my son calm and happy instead of being in a different location every time he visits with me has changed everything. I actually spend more time with my son now, and that keeps me motivated.”

This is what stability does.
It quiets anxiety.
It strengthens families.
It allows parents to show up fully for their children.
