Hawks soar!! 🎉
Today we had our 1st quarter assembly to review all the 7 habits we have been learning, play some minute it to win it games, and celebrate our attendance winners! We even had some soaring students read what they wrote about respect, accountability and being a leader! It was a great way to celebrate all the hard work from quarter 1!

Today, our 4th graders wrapped up their Middle Ages unit with a very special guest speaker! 🏰🛡️

Dr. Larson’s brother, Vincent, a competitive knight who travels the world jousting, visited our classrooms to share his armor, demonstrate how it's worn, and answer student questions about medieval life and modern jousting.

Thank you for helping us bring our history lessons to life in such an exciting way! ⚔️

🌍 In Mrs. Herman’s class! 🇨🇦 yesterday, students hopped on a Google Meet with a 5/6 grade class all the way in Ontario, Canada!

Our thinkers put their geography skills to work, asking strategic questions to pinpoint their mystery location.

Once the secret was out, students dove into a great discussion about our Global Read Aloud book, The Second Life of Snap, which both classes will be reading together! 📚✨

We also compared school routines and discovered some pretty cool facts:
• Their whole school goes on a Monday morning walk together! 👟
• They get TWO 20-minute nutrition breaks and outdoor recesses every single day! 🍎☀️

The students loved making new friends north of the border and can’t wait for our next check-in! 💙

🩺 Paging Dr. First Grade! 🩺

To wrap up the human body unit, our first graders stepped into the scrubs for Doctor Day! 🏥✨

From operating in surgery and solving "doctor math" to crafting their very own brains, these mini-physicians did it all.

Check out these future doctors in action! 🧠🥼👇

Ms. O’Brien and Mrs. Lawler’s classes working together to paint vibrant fall trees to accompany their seasonal writing projects.

Combining art with literacy gave our young authors a creative way to bring their autumn stories to life! ✍️🍁

Our Lake in the Hills police officers were excited to greet students this morning at arrival! They are looking forward to visiting the school more this year and being a part of our Lincoln Prairie community!

🍁 Today, students in Mrs. Hanley and Mrs. Grossmayer’s classes teamed up for a special fall-themed buddy craft! 🍂

Students worked together to design and assemble their very own scarecrows.

We love seeing our students collaborate, build friendships, and bring a little extra autumn cheer to our halls!

Great job, everyone!
