Join us on the second Wednesday of every month at 3:30 p.m., to make some music in the library! Ukulele players of all skill levels are invited to stop in to play along. We will be choosing songs to play each month from The Daily Ukulele: 365 Songs for Better Living. Ukuleles and songbooks are available to check out from the library.

In a world where you can be anything, be kind! Join us for our next meeting of Kindness Crew at 3:45. Come hear a story about kindness and make a craft! This program is open to ages 6 and up; registration is appreciated but not required!

Kindness has no age requirement – if a friend younger than 6 would like to join in, please reach out to Miss Maria at [email protected], or 985-2173 x 105. Caregivers are encouraged to join in! When your little sees you talking about and practicing kindness, they will want to join in even more!

Do you love walking and listening to audiobooks? Then our new audiobook club might be for you! Join us every Tuesday morning at 9:30am for a leisurely stroll through the Hope Cemetery and Woods listening to your latest book, podcast, music or the sounds of nature, whichever you prefer! We will meet at the front entrance of KFL and start our 1-2 mile walk together through the cemetery, the accessible trail and back to the library. ⚠️We are getting an update! On Thursday, September 17th and Friday, September 18th our parking lot will be getting sealed, which means our entire parking lot will be CLOSED during this time.

The library will still be open, but our front entrance will only be accessible via the path walkway from Main Street. Parking is available all along Main street in town.

Also, please note that during this time, we will not be receiving the ILL deliveries, but they will resume on Monday, September 21st.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, please let us know if you have any questions or concerns!⚠️

It’s time for Storytime! On Mondays at 10:00 a.m., join Miss Maria inside the library for songs, stories, rhymes, and fun! Storytimes are designed for ages 2-5, but everyone is welcome!

Please join Kharris Brill for the opening reception of her exhibit "Reframed Stories: Objects Reimagined to Tell New Tales", on Saturday, September 5th from 3-4:30pm. All are welcome.

Kharris says her exhibit “brings together a series of assemblages built from found and reclaimed materials – mechanical parts, pages, wood, and fragments of everyday life. Each piece tells its own story, and when the works are viewed together, new connections emerge. Materials once separated by purpose or time gain fresh significance when reassembled.”

Kharris B is the art name of Kathryn Harris, who lives in Bath and runs a shop by the same name. Kharris attended the Portland School of Art, although she is mostly self-educated, learning new tools and techniques as she goes. She has exhibited at galleries across Maine and New Hampshire and won numerous awards

The public is invited to view the exhibit in the library’s Speers Gallery from September 3-30, 2026, at 112 Main St., Kennebunk, Maine during regular library hours when the gallery is not in use for library programs. Please check the library website for current hours and gallery access, www.kennebunklibrary.org.

Open Hearts Open Mic will be Monday, September 14th, at 6:00 p.m. (usually the first Monday, but moved for the holiday) at Kennebunk Free Library! Hosted by local writer Kacy Fallon, there are 10 slots, and sign-up is first-come, first-served. Writers and artists may share up to five minutes of their work. Admission is always free and open to the public.
