We are pleased to welcome Officer Eric Lund to Kennebunk PD! Eric has been in law enforcement for almost 12 years, starting with Bangor PD from 2015 to 2020 and Biddeford PD from 2020 to 2026. Eric is certified as a field training officer, Civil Rights Officer, MARC instructor, SRO, and has served on a Crisis Intervention Team. Eric is a recipient of two Life-Saving Awards, a Distinguished Teamwork Award, and a Good Conduct Award during his career.

If you see him around town, please welcome him to our community! We are so happy he has chosen Kennebunk PD to continue his career!

Traffic Pattern Change: Webber Hill/Whitten Road/Mill Street IntersectionBeginning September 14, 2026.

Following a year-long evaluation of crash data and traffic operations, Town staff, MaineDOT, and SMPDC (Southern Maine Planning & Development Commission) have determined that this intersection will be converted to a 4-Way All Stop.

Notification of the change and new traffic pattern warning signs and speed limit signs will be in place beginning September 1, 2026 with permanent signage going into effect on September 14, 2026.

Motorists are asked to slow down, use caution, and follow all posted speed limit signs, stop signs and traffic pattern signage when approaching the intersection.

Questions or concerns regarding the project may be directed to the Public Services Department at 207-985-4811.

🚨 PARKING TICKET UPDATE 🚨

UPDATE: We have identified the source of the parking tickets that were reported over the weekend.

These tickets were not issued by the Kennebunk Police Department and are not valid Kennebunk parking tickets. They were issued by a private entity in the Portland area, in their parking lot.

We apologize for any confusion and appreciate everyone who brought the tickets to our attention. If you receive a parking ticket and doubt its authenticity, it is a good idea to check with the issuing agency before making a payment or assuming it is fraudulent.

We have been alerted to phony parking 🅿️ tickets being issued near the beach today. 

We understand that no one likes to get a real parking ticket, please don’t fall for this scam and pay a phony fine. KPD’s parking tickets are yellow, the ones in picture posted here are not issued by our department.

If you receive one of these while parked in a public parking area, please report it to us, 207-985-6121. Thank you.

What an incredible evening!

Last night, we had the privilege of hosting what I believe was the most successful National Night Out in Kennebunk's history. National Night Out is much more than an annual event—it's an opportunity to strengthen the relationships between our police department and the community we are honored to serve. It's about building trust, promoting crime prevention, and reminding one another that we are strongest when we come together.
Events like this don't happen by accident. They are made possible by the generosity and dedication of so many people. I want to sincerely thank our community partners, vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and the members of the Kennebunk Police Department who devoted countless hours over the past several months to making this event such a success. Your hard work and commitment did not go unnoticed.

Most of all, thank you to the hundreds of residents and visitors who joined us. Watching families enjoy hot dogs, popcorn, ice cream, and lemonade was wonderful, but what meant the most was seeing neighbors talking with one another, children laughing with our officers, and community members taking the time to get to know the men and women behind the badge. Those moments are what community policing is truly about. They build trust, strengthen relationships, and remind us that we are all part of the same community.

I have had the honor of serving the Town of Kennebunk through the Police Department for the past 38 years. I continue to wear this badge because I genuinely love serving this community. Every day, I have the privilege of working alongside an extraordinary group of dedicated professionals who care deeply about this town and the people who call it home. They are the reason our department continues to grow stronger, and I could not be prouder of each and every one of them.

As successful as this year's National Night Out was, I already know our team will be looking for ways to make next year's event even better. That's who they are, and that's what this community deserves.

On behalf of the entire Kennebunk Police Department and the Town of Kennebunk, thank you for making this year's National Night Out our biggest and best yet. Your support, your smiles, and your willingness to spend the evening with us made all the hard work worthwhile.

We are proud to serve you, and we look forward to seeing you again next year.

‼️ SCAM WARNING ‼️

The police department is seeing an increase in a parent/ grandparent scam.

This scam involves receiving a call from somebody attempting to sound like your child or grandchild. The caller states your child/ grandchild has been involved in a vehicle crash that has resulted in them being arrested. The caller then states they need bail money to release your child/ grandchild.

Be aware that this is a SCAM. Please do not give out any personal information during these calls or send them any money.
