Hicksville Fire Department Hosts “RecruitNY” Open House.
The Hicksville Fire Department participated in the annual statewide RecruitNY initiative on April 19, welcoming residents to learn more about volunteer opportunities within the department.
Volunteer fire departments across New York State continue to face declining membership and increasing call volumes. To maintain strong emergency response capabilities, the Hicksville Fire Department is seeking new volunteers.
As part of RecruitNY Weekend, the Hicksville Fire Department opened its doors on April 19th. Alongside hundreds of volunteer fire departments statewide, the department aims to raise awareness about the need for volunteers and highlight the benefits of serving the community.
Throughout the event, the department offered station and apparatus tours, gear demonstrations, and informational sessions about membership. Volunteer firefighters were available to answer questions and discuss the responsibilities and rewards of joining.
We are always looking for dedicated individuals to join our team.” Please see pictures from the day’s events.
