Hicksville Gardens Civic Association (HGCA) awarded 11 (Eleven) scholarships to the graduating high school seniors selected by our Scholarship Committee at a ceremonial meeting held on June 18, 2026. The checks were handed over to the awardees in presence of their parents and respective sponsors.

In a short speech Adam Firester (President, HGCA) congratulated the awardees, their proud parents and sponsors. He wished these young talents to be successful both in their quest for higher studies and professional life. He also reminded them that someday in future to come back in this beautiful Hicksville and take the lead in improving the quality of life and refining the social structure of our community-we call 'Home'.

Bass Pro Shops is planning to open its first Long Island location at 195 North Broadway, the site of the former Sears Auto Center.

Today was one of the wetter days to march, but it was well worth it for those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice. We were especially proud to have veterans from our civic as the Grand Marshalls of this year’s parade: Jerry O’Brien, Frank Guarasci, and Joe Dubon.

We wish you a meaningful Memorial Day and hope you take a moment to honor those who fought to secure our freedom and way of life.
