!!!Please stay alert!!! Between last night to this morning, Franklin County was hit with several groups of car break ins. The suspects (unknown if it’s one crew or multiple crews) were in a black sedan and stopped in the street, multiple suspects jumped out, ran up to cars, busted out windows, grabbed items and jumped back to the car. Note that some of these occurred around 7 am.. We took several reports in Truro Township, but areas in Canal Wi******er, Obetz and Hilliard (at least 50 cars in Hilliard) were also hit. Please stay vigilant and proactive in attempting to deter these crimes and to identify suspects . If you have any information as in license plates or names of possible suspects please call Franklin County Sheriff's Office at 614-525-3333.

5/27/2026 @ 11:18 pm - Groveport Road between Lithopolis Road and Gender Road is currently closed due to high water. Please avoid the area and seek an alternate route. Use caution while traveling tonight and never drive through flooded roadways.

See something say something this is very dangerous!!!!!

We are experiencing an increasing number of storm sewer lids being removed throughout Madison Township. This creates a serious safety hazard for pedestrians and is costly to repair.

If you see anyone tampering with or removing storm sewer lids, please contact the Madison Township Police Department at 614-836-5355, Monday – Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, or the radio room at 614-836-9000 after hours, and ask for an officer so the appropriate personnel can respond and address the situation.

Tampering with and/or removing storm sewer lids is a punishable offense. At a minimum, offenders can be charged with criminal mischief.

We appreciate the community’s help in keeping Madison Township safe.

🏀⛹🏼‍♀️⛹🏼‍♂️Spring is upon us, and along with it, folks eager to get outdoors and enjoy the warming weather, especially our youth! Basketball is a wonderful team sport, popular among many Madison Township residents. Basketball provides the opportunity to not only get outdoors but engage in physical exercise and make memories with friends. Neighborhood roadways may be a tempting place to erect a backdrop and hoop to practice free throw or challenge your siblings to a friendly game of HORSE, but we must be mindful of our neighbors within earshot and motorists that need to pass through. Several ORC codes outline the rules for yielding the right-of-way to vehicles or obstructing roadways, including ORC 4511.50 and 5589.01, however, it is most important to consider the rules of being a good neighbor first. Please be kind and considerate of one another! If hoops cannot be safely installed on private property, Brobst Park on Wi******er Pike offers basketball courts for our residents to utilize on a first-come, first-serve basis. These courts are a great place to pick up a game and make new friends in the process. 🏀🏀🏀⛹🏼‍♂️⛹🏼‍♂️⛹🏼‍♂️

Madison Township Police need your help. Our officers located Sammy on Wi******er Pike and Brice Road this evening. We want to reunite him with his family, but unfortunately, we do not have any information regarding his parents. Please help us reunite Sammy with his family.
