Shawnee Fire District extends our sincere thanks to the City of Oxford, Riley Township, Hanover Township, Liberty Township, City of Trenton, St. Clair Township, and City of Hamilton Fire Departments for generously donating turnout gear, helmets, boots, and other equipment to support our Fire Cadet Program.

Although this equipment has reached the end of its service life for frontline firefighting, it can still serve a valuable purpose in cadet training. These donations replace gear from the former Gratis and WEGT fire departments, in fact, much of which was older than the cadets wearing it!

Partnerships like these help sustain our program, which now includes six active cadets, and give the next generation of firefighters opportunities to learn and grow. We are grateful to these departments for investing in our cadets and the future of the fire service.

❤️ More Than Bingo — It’s a community that feels like family ❤️

Every Tuesday from April through October, Shawnee Fire District brings our community together for more than just a game of bingo. It’s about laughter, friendship, and the connections that turn strangers into friends and friends into family.

Much like the fire service, it’s about showing up for one another, building bonds, and being part of something bigger than ourselves.

We are so grateful to live in a town where community still means something, where people come together, support one another, and remind us that home isn’t just a place — it’s the people who make it feel that way. 🏡❤️

Thank you to everyone who joins us, supports us, and makes our bingo nights so special. We are proud to serve this community and blessed to call it home!

We hate to see this season come to an end but we look forward to opening our doors to you again in the spring.

At Shawnee Fire District, it’s never just bingo. It’s family. 🚒❤️

This memory takes us back to a piece of Shawnee Fire District history!

In February 2022, we officially said goodbye to this retired engine. After a few decades of faithfully serving and protecting our community, this old engine still had plenty of life left to give!

Rather than seeing its years of service come to an end, we were fortunate enough to give it a new beginning by donating it to a fire department in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. 🇲🇽

The firefighters in Cabo San Lucas were incredibly grateful to receive it, and we were equally grateful to be in a position to help a fellow fire department continue serving and protecting its community.

There’s something pretty special about knowing that an engine that served our small community in Ohio for decades could go on to serve another community hundreds of miles away. What was the end of an era for our department became the beginning of a new chapter for another.

Different communities, different countries, but the same mission: serving others.
