Our Environmental Health team will be there!

BRING THE KIDS FOR A FUN DAY OUTDOORS!

Bring the kids (ages 8+) out for some FREE FAMILY FUN in the great outdoors at Bluegill Boat Launch!

Local union volunteers will provide hands-on introductions to fishing, BB guns, field dog training/retrieving, and other exciting activities. The first 400 kids will receive a fishing rod and reel to keep.

Organized by the Union Sportsmen's Alliance and UAW Local 659, this event is free and open to the public, but limited to the first 400 participants. No registration is required. All participants must be accompanied by an adult chaperone.

You can now report Harmful Agal Blooms (HABs) online! Genesee County Health Department’s website now includes information about HABs and direct access to report any HAB sightings to the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy.

Think of vaccines the way you think about software updates. Your phone doesn't just get one update and call it done.

It gets patches, upgrades, and boosters that build on the last, closing security gaps as new threats emerge. Your tech gets a new patch to recognize and fight the latest threat. Your immune system gets a "blueprint" to recognize a pathogen, before it ever encounters the real thing.

Updates roll out at specific times for a reason! Your system needs to be ready before the threat hits, not after. This is the same reason why certain vaccines are given at certain ages.

Notice: Walk-in vaccine services to pause for two days next week.

Heads up, Genesee County!

Michigan is upgrading to a new Immunization Information System (IIS) for electronic vaccine records. During the transition, we'll need to pause walk-in vaccine services on June 11th and 12th.

- Appointments are still available! If you need vaccines on those days, appointments must be scheduled before June 9th so we can pull your records before the system goes offline.
- Walk-in hours will return to normal on Monday, June 15th.
