The Flint Promise Class of 2026 has graduated! This year's class brings the program's total to 30 graduates since 2025 — earning degrees from from Kettering University, Mott Community College, and University of Michigan-Flint. Flint Promise supports tuition-free access for post-secondary education to high school graduates who live and attend school in the city of Flint. Students also have access to success coaches and other resources.

Young people investing in young people: Ten Genesee County students surveyed their peers, identified community safety as a top concern, and started fundraising. Through the Center for Arab American Philanthropy | CAAP's Teen Grantmaking Initiative, a youth philanthropy program run locally by the Arab American Heritage Council, they raised $500 and awarded it to the Flint Public Health Youth Academy-FPHYA.

The students found FPHYA through the Community Safety Collaborative, drawn to its focus on youth engagement, prevention, and public health approaches to safety.

The Community Foundation of Greater Flint was honored to sponsor yesterday’s “Trey Day,” celebrating one of Flint’s own and his success both on and off the court. Congratulations to Trey McKenney on winning the National Championship!

A hometown king, McKenney returned with the national championship trophy and shared in a celebration in his honor with the city where he was born and raised.

: Mothers of Joy Institute for Parenting and Family Wellness.Inc set out to serve 32 Flint families this grant cycle. They reached 85. Through parenting education, wellness programming, and the Family Safe-Space, MOJI creates room for families to heal and connect — including grandparents raising grandchildren and mothers navigating the justice system.
