Speaking on “A Shared Mission of Care: Taiwan Can Help,” DG Huang highlighted Taiwan-Nepal medical cooperation—from Taiwanese medical professionals helping strengthen healthcare capacity in Nepal to a Nepali medical delegation visiting Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital this June.

As the 81st UN General Assembly opens on September 8 under the theme of an inclusive UN for everyone, DG Huang called on the UN to live up to the principle of and welcome Taiwan’s meaningful participation. 🌏

■ 呼籲聯合國 #不遺漏任何人，盡速接納台灣參與！

第81屆「聯合國大會」將於今年9月8日開議，總辯論主題為「恢復信任、應對轉型：一個普惠全民的聯合國」。

葛葆萱次長日前召開記者會，向國人說明今年政府推動參與聯合國的訴求及策略，重點包含：

1⃣ #聯大第2758號決議 並未排除台灣有意義參與聯合國體系，聯合國應尋求適當方式接納台灣的參與，以利台灣對加速實現聯合國「永續發展目標」作出具體貢獻。

2⃣ 我國堅持維護台海現狀，並全力守護台海的和平與穩定。維持台海現狀不僅被國際社會高度認同與信賴，獲得民主夥伴的支持，更是台灣民意的共識。台海的和平與穩定，是世界安全與繁榮的必要元素。

3⃣ 台灣向聯合國與國際社會承諾和平解決爭端，並堅定維護國際法秩序。任何破壞台海現狀的企圖與作為，就是破壞「聯合國憲章」中禁止使用武力與要求和平解決爭端的原則。

此外，林佳龍部長也將發表專文「恢復信任：台灣在自由世界應有的正當地位」，親自向全球各界說明我國政府立場，強調聯合國必須遵循其憲章，公平正義對待國際社會所有成員，才能重拾國際社會的信任。

台灣是國際社會重要且負責任的一員，與世界各國共同面對全球挑戰，也是聯合國 #應對轉型 不可或缺的關鍵力量。我國政府再次呼籲聯合國儘速尋求適當方式納入台灣，以落實「不遺漏任何人」的承諾，以及 #普惠全民聯合國 的目標。

■ Taiwan actively promotes UN participation, calls for a UN that delivers for all

The 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly will open on September 8 at the UN headquarters in New York. The theme of this year’s General Debate will be “Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation: A United Nations that Delivers for All.”

MOFA Vice Minister Baushuan Ger held a special press conference on September 1 to communicate to the public the Taiwan government’s 2026 campaign and strategy for promoting Taiwan’s UN participation, highlighting:

1⃣ UNGA Resolution 2758 neither dealt with Taiwan’s sovereignty nor precluded Taiwan’s meaningful participation in the UN system. The UN should identify appropriate ways of including Taiwan’s participation in the UN system so that Taiwan can contribute its expertise and experience to help accelerate the realization of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

2⃣ Firmly maintaining the status quo and ensuring peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait is the mainstream public opinion in Taiwan and the widely held and staunch position of the international community. It has also received extensive support among Taiwan’s democratic partners. Peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait are indispensable to global security and prosperity.

3⃣ Taiwan is committed to the peaceful settlement of disputes and staunchly defending the international legal order. Any attempts or actions to disrupt the status quo across the Taiwan Strait contravene the principles enshrined in the UN Charter prohibiting the threat or use of force and requiring the peaceful settlement of disputes.

Minister Lin Chia-lung published an op-ed entitled “Restoring trust: Taiwan’s rightful place in the free world” to communicate the Taiwan government’s stance to the world. The op-ed underlines that only by following the principles set out in the UN Charter and treating every member of the international community in a fair and just manner can the UN win back the international community’s confidence.

As an important stakeholder in the international community, Taiwan stands ready to face global challenges alongside global partners, and is an indispensable and vital force in the UN’s efforts to manage transformation. The government of Taiwan once again calls on the UN system to recognize the legitimate right of the 23.5 million people of Taiwan to participate in international affairs and to promptly seek appropriate ways to include Taiwan. Only in this way can the UN truly realize its commitment to leave no one behind and being a UN that delivers for all.

踏上丹佛北側郊區美麗的 Omni Interlocken 高爾夫球場⛳️，8月28日傍晚，黃總領事虹慧偕陳副處長淑華受邀參加「2026年世界常青業餘高爾夫球賽」開幕式暨歡迎餐會。

開幕式上，各國代表隊隊員手持國旗，在各自國歌樂聲中依序進場，現場氣氛隆重又熱烈🇹🇼👏。黃總領事也與台灣常青業餘高爾夫協會劉理事長謙儒、余隊長志誠率領的台灣代表隊一行13人及眷屬啦啦隊相見歡，並與來自🇦🇷🇧🇷🇨🇦🇨🇴🇩🇪🇯🇵、澤西、🇵🇦🇵🇭🇵🇹🇹🇼🇺🇸等隊伍歡樂聯誼。

今年是第66屆世界常青業餘高爾夫球賽事。台灣常青業餘高爾夫協會創立於1980年，匯集國內外資深球友，多年來以球會友、以運動交流連結世界。祝福台灣代表隊賽事順利、揮出佳績🏌️‍♂️🇹🇼，一起為台灣全民外交加油！👏

On the evening of August 28th, Director General Debby Huang and Deputy Director General Trini Chen visited the beautiful Omni Interlocken Resort and Spa in the northern suburbs of Denver, as they were invited to attend the opening ceremony and welcome dinner of the "2026 World Senior Golf Championship".

At the opening ceremony, team members from 🇦🇷🇧🇷🇨🇦🇨🇴🇩🇪🇯🇵Jersey🇵🇦🇵🇭🇵🇹🇹🇼🇺🇸, holding their national flags, entered the venue in order to the strains of their respective national anthems, creating a solemn and enthusiastic atmosphere. Director General Huang also met with the Taiwan delegation led by Chairman Luke Liou and Captain Michael Yu of the Taiwan Senior Amateur Golf Association, along with their spouses.

This year marks the 66th World Golf Senior Championship. Founded in 1980, the Taiwan Senior Amateur Golf Association brings together experienced golfers from home and abroad, and for many years has fostered friendships through golf and connected the world through sporting exchange. We wish the Taiwan delegation a successful tournament and excellent results! 🏌️‍♂️🇹🇼 Let's all cheer for Taiwan's people-to-people diplomacy! 👏

科州年度盛事「科羅拉多龍舟節」8月29日在美麗的 Sloan 湖熱鬧開場啦！🎉 科州龍舟節不僅是全美規模最大的龍舟賽事之一，也是科羅拉多州最大型的節慶活動之一，現場人潮滿滿、氣氛熱烈！開幕活動中，本處黃虹慧總領事與丹佛市長 Mike Johnston、Edgewater 市長 Steven Conklin、科州副州長候選人 Lesley Dahlkemper，以及日本總領事岡島洋之（Okajima Hiroyuki）等受邀貴賓逐一上台與大家見面，每位貴賓登場都獲得現場觀眾熱情歡呼與掌聲👏👏👏，為今年的龍舟節揭開熱鬧序幕！

🌊🐉 2026 Colorado Dragon Boat Festival Kicks Off!

What a beautiful day at Sloan’s Lake as the 2026 Colorado Dragon Boat Festival kicked off with an incredible crowd and plenty of energy! 🎉 As one of the largest dragon boat competitions in the United States and one of Colorado’s largest festivals, this annual celebration brings together communities through sports, culture, food, and friendship.

During the opening ceremony, Director General Debby Huang joined Denver Mayor Mike Johnston, Edgewater Mayor Steven Conklin, Colorado lieutenant governor candidate Lesley Dahlkemper, and Consul General of Japan Hiroyuki Okajima as honored guests. Each guest was introduced on stage and welcomed with enthusiastic cheers and applause from the crowd! 👏👏👏

Many thanks to the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival Executive Committee for the warm invitation! Director General Huang and the other honored guests then climbed aboard a dragon boat and took to the water for a special demonstration paddle 🚣‍♀️🐉. With drums beating and spectators cheering from the shore, it was a wonderful way to experience the spirit and excitement of dragon boat racing firsthand!

Following the demonstration, Venerable Xing Jing and members of Dharma Jewel Monastery in Boulder offered Buddhist chants and blessings 🙏 for the festival and all participating teams. Director General Huang and the other honored guests then took part in the traditional Dragon Eye-Dotting Ceremony ✨, bringing the dragons to life and officially ushering in this year’s races!

👍8月11日晚間本處黃總領事虹慧應邀出席南達科他貿易協會（South Dakota Trade, SDT）於蘇瀑市舉辦之第六屆「中西部農產品外銷峰會」（Midwest Agricultural Export Summit, MAES）酒會及晚宴，陳淑華副處長陪同。

On the evening of August 11, Director General Debby Huang was invited to attend the reception and dinner of the 6th Midwest Agricultural Export Summit (MAES) held by the South Dakota Trade (SDT) in Sioux Falls. The Deputy Director Trini Chen was present.

The Director General Huang engaged in lively discussions with guests including Hunter Roberts, Cabinet Secretary of South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Bill Even, Commissioner of Economic Development, Joe Fiala, Deputy Commissioner of Economic Development and SDT Interim Chairman, Nebraska Agriculture Director Sherry Vinton, Kenyan Ambassador to the United States Christopher Kirigua, Canadian Consul General in Minneapolis Beth Richardson, Acting Consul General of Japan in Chicago Naoya Kishi, and representatives from U.S. soybean, meat, and other agricultural associations and SDT board members.
