We are a friendly village pre-school situated in the grounds of Roundwood Primary School. Our pre-school was founded in 1972 by a group of parents wishing to meet other parents. Tingewick Pre-school has evolved over the years into a stimulating and happy environment run by skilled staff who work in high adult-to-child ratios. We are at the centre of the local community and we give children aged 2-
5 the chance to make friends, learn through playing and prepare for starting school. We are Ofsted registered and a member of the Pre-school Learning Alliance. We are run by a voluntary committee of parents who organise various fundraising events. To enhance the development and education of children under statutory school age in a parent-involving, community-based group. To provide a safe, stimulating and happy environment. To work within a framework which ensures equality of opportunity for all children and families. We currently have a team of seven trained and experienced staff members delivering the Early Years Foundation Course to children, with the emphasis on having fun and learning through play always remaining paramount. We have a high ratio of adults to children in our group ensuring individual attention is given to the needs and development of each and every child. We cater for children with special needs and two staff members are trained in Makaton and Signalong. We are based in a purpose-built building situated within the grounds of Roundwood School, enabling us to make full use of the large outdoor playing field. We also have our own fantastic outdoor play area and are right next door to the school's Foundation Stage classroom and playground - this means that our children know the place and teachers well when they come to start school. After our last Ofsted inspection we received an overall high rating of 'Good' in all areas.
