Storrowton Village Museum is a reconstructed village of nine authentic 18th and 19th century buildings from Massachusetts and New Hampshire, assembled around a traditional town green. Located on the grounds of Eastern States Exposition and The Big E, we offer hands-on educational programs and guided tours to share the history and traditions of New England to audiences of all ages.

Do you know how to slay a vampire? 🧛 Before tuberculosis was identified, people truly believed there were vampires roaming around town. Anyone could have been one, even your own sister.

According to 18th-century American lore, the only way to get rid of them is to turn them over in their grave, burn their organs or even decapitate them! 🩸

So, you're going ghost hunting at Storrowton Village? Here's your guide to the most active locations onsite 👇🏼

— #1. The Blacksmith Shop
The Clark Blacksmith Shop was fully operational for over a decade after being built in 1853 before it was dismantled and moved to Storrowton Village. We can never be sure what took place at the forge in those years.

Today, the shop is outfitted with a collection of preserved tools and iron works from its active period. Some of the items have mysterious pasts while others have been reported to move unexpectedly.

— #2. The Gilbert Farmstead
This working-class home housed five generations of the Gilbert family from 1794 - 1927. Premature deaths were terribly common during this time period. Not only are there several apparitions that haunt the Gilbert Farmstead to this day, but the most active spirits are known to be children. Their laughter and taunts are frequently reported by both visitors and staff.

— #3. The Union Meeting House
The meeting house was a central hub for any community in the 18th century. This house in particular provided space for four different congregations. With so much traffic, at least one visitor was bound to linger. He has been spotted on the Union House balcony, peering down upon whoever dares enter after dark.

Each September Storrowton Village becomes the most magical place at The Big E fairgrounds, and it's all thanks to the showstopping performers, talented demonstrators, and knowledgeable volunteer guides that bring our historic Village to life.
