I was proud to present a $2.9 million U.S. Department of Labor RESTART grant to the West Jackson Community Development Corporation.

This investment will help individuals returning to their communities access job training, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities as they work toward a fresh start.

No one gets to scare you out of exercising your rights. Make a plan, bring a friend, and go vote.

Federal officers showing up at your door asking whether you plan to vote is intimidation, plain and simple.

I’m demanding Secretary Mullin end these shakedowns immediately. Americans should never have to fear their own government for exercising their right to vote.

It was great to see so many students and families from across the Mississippi Delta come out and take advantage of the opportunity to connect directly with colleges, universities, businesses, and organizations.

I was pleased to join state, federal, National Park Service, and private sector partners in celebrating the next phase of the Vicksburg National Military Park and Museum.

My work to introduce and pass the Vicksburg National Military Park Boundary Modification Act (H.R. 4467) in the House has made it possible for the state-owned land to connect with federal park land.

This is an important step toward advancing a museum that will tell the full story of the Siege of Vicksburg, including its impact on the people of the region and the contributions of U.S. Colored Troops.

With the November 3rd midterm elections approaching, every eligible voter should make sure their registration information is accurate and up to date.

Recent Supreme Court action has allowed the Trump administration to use an expanded federal database to review voter registration records. Eligible voters should verify their information to avoid potential registration issues.

I encourage everyone to check their voter registration and contact their local County Circuit Clerk’s Office with any questions about their status or upcoming election deadlines. Make a plan to vote and make your voice heard.
