City of Centerville, Ohio-Government, City Manager Wayne Davis, Sugarcreek Township, Greene County Administrator Barry Tiffany, along with Dan Hoying of LJB Inc and Chris Kershner of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce met me in Washington to discuss the Wilmington Pike/I-675 interchange project. Once completed this will strengthen our region's already dominant position as a logistics hub of the Midwest, creating jobs and bringing new business to the Miami Valley. 🚚

It has been one year since Dayton hosted the NATO PA Spring Session where we showcased our world-class city. This was the first session held in the United States in over two decades. Leaders, dignitaries and lawmakers from 32 allied nations gathered in our community to discuss the vital security matters that shape the future of the strongest alliance the world has ever known. This historic event has left a lasting impact on our city and region as well as a lasting impression on the world.

Mayor of Xenia Ethan Reynolds and the Xenia City Council visited me in Washington to discuss their priorities for the city and how I could help. Understanding and advocating for these priorities at the federal level is my duty and privilege. I am also appreciative of the support of the Mayor and City Council as we work to pass my bill renaming the Xenia Post Office in honor of Xenia local and WHIO weatherman Gil Whitney.

No one is satisfied with the level of information that is being shared with congress; both in terms of strategy or ongoing operations. Chairman Mike Rogers has very publicly stated that on a number of levels, that the department needs to be more forthcoming in the sharing of information. Though the administration has made very clear that the conflict is about Iran not having a nuclear weapon.

Yesterday, I was joined by fellow Ohio Congressman Rep. Greg Landsman to introduce the Veterans Affairs Heritage Act. This legislation will establish a Department of Veterans Affairs History Office and locate it in Dayton, Ohio

Dayton has long stood at the center of our nation’s military, veterans, and innovation history, and it is the right home for this important effort. The service of America’s veterans is not only a matter of policy — it is part of who we are as a nation.
