Gibson County Recovery Court Graduation — Celebrating Recovery, Restoration & New Beginnings Gibson County Recovery Court
Today was a special day for our Gibson County Recovery Court as we celebrated the graduation of four individuals who have worked incredibly hard to change their lives.
Recovery Court is about much more than completing a program. It is about accountability, treatment, hard work, rebuilding relationships, restoring trust, and giving people the opportunity—and the tools—to build a different life.
Today we celebrated Amanda Faulkner, Tanika Wilkins, Blaire McCaskill, and Tara Connell.
Amanda Faulkner celebrates an incredible 1,098 days sober! During her journey, she has participated in 154 case-management services, passed 122 drug screens, and completed Moral Reconation Therapy. She has regained her family’s trust and is now working as an assistant manager at Domino’s. Amanda says Recovery Court helped her get her life back on track and gave her both the tools to remain sober and people she knows she can depend on.
Tanika Wilkins celebrates 790 days sober! She has completed 115 case-management services and passed 92 drug screens. She has established a stable home and stable employment, has two running and maintained vehicles in her name, and has given birth to a happy, healthy, drug-free baby. She has completed Parenting and Family Values classes and Moral Reconation Therapy and continues working toward regaining full custody of her children. Tanika says Recovery Court has helped her learn to handle difficult situations, maintain a steady work ethic, express her feelings, improve her family relationships, and regain her self-respect.
Blaire McCaskill celebrates 850 days sober! She has completed trauma therapy, participated in 149 case-management services, and passed 110 drug screens. She has obtained her own vehicle, become more involved in her daughter’s life, and has given birth to a happy, healthy, drug-free baby who is now almost two years old. Blaire says Recovery Court gave her support and accountability, helped her learn to love herself again, showed her that she can still have fun while sober, and taught her that it is okay to ask for help.
Tara Connell celebrates 832 days sober! She has completed 163 case-management services, passed 99 drug screens, completed long-term inpatient treatment, and completed her 12-step program. Most importantly, she is rebuilding relationships with her family. Tara says Recovery Court and the 12-step program have taught her accountability, helped her understand and deal with her feelings in healthier ways, and brought some amazing people into her life.
Those numbers are impressive—but the real accomplishments can’t all be measured by numbers.
Families are being restored. Trust is being rebuilt. Children have their mothers back. People are working, providing for themselves, accepting responsibility, and discovering that their past does not have to determine their future.
Recovery is not easy, and graduation does not mean the work is finished. But today represents something worth celebrating: four people who made a decision to keep showing up, keep doing the work, and keep moving forward.
I am extremely proud of Amanda, Tanika, Blaire, and Tara and grateful for our entire Recovery Court team and everyone who has walked alongside them.
Congratulations to our four Gibson County Recovery Court graduates! Today we didn’t just celebrate the completion of a program—we celebrated four lives moving forward in a new direction.
