📜 Preservation Week in Gibson County! 🏛️

This week, we celebrate Preservation Week—a time dedicated to protecting the documents, photographs, and stories that tell the history of our community.

At the Gibson County Archives, our mission is simple but vital: to preserve the rich heritage of Gibson County for future generations. From old photographs and family records to court documents and historic maps, every piece of history matters.

Do you have items at home that tell a story? Now is the perfect time to take steps to preserve them:
📸 Store photos in a cool, dry place
📄 Use acid-free folders for important documents
📚 Keep books and papers out of direct sunlight
🖊️ Label items carefully to preserve their history

Our past is only as strong as what we choose to protect today.

We invite you to visit the Archives, explore your roots, and help us continue telling the story of Gibson County—one document at a time.

Blankenship and myself to come speak with them this morning about the importance of preserving our counties history. We were able tell them a little bit about the archive and how we are working to preserve that history.
