GIBSON COUNTY, TENN--Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the request of the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC), a search warrant was executed on The City Limits Bar and Grill in Trenton, TN by the Office of the District Attorney General for the 28th Judicial District, the Trenton Police Department, and TDEC.

TDEC received an anonymous complaint of the City Limits Bar and Grill illegally dumping wastewater, including sewage, through their plumbing into the North Fork Forked Deer River, a tributary of the Forked Deer River. TDEC requested permission to conduct a dye test as part of a sewage discharge investigation in the business but was denied access. Subsequently, TDEC contacted the District Attorney’s Office to assist in obtaining a search warrant authorizing the investigative test.

During the inspection, it was confirmed through dye testing that the building’s plumbing led directly to the North Fork Forked Deer River, where the wastewater and sewage was released. TDEC has issued the City Limits Bar and Grill a Notice of Violation, which gives the business 30 days to remedy the wastewater issue before criminal charges may be filed by our Office.

“This is a serious health issue for the People of Gibson County and our local ecosystem. We are preparing to petition the Gibson County Circuit Court to close this establishment until the owner remedies the unsafe condition. We hope that the owners will take initiative to stop dumping sewage into the river. We thank the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation for bringing our attention to this matter and the Trenton Police Department for their assistance in serving the search warrant.”

*Sensabaugh Convicted of Killing Matthew Bond*

HAYWOOD COUNTY, TN- Today, after a two-day jury trial, a Haywood County Jury found Brandon Sensabaugh aka Walker guilty of the Vehicular Homicide of Matthew Bond. Sensabaugh was also convicted of D.U.I. 2nd Offense, Driving on Revoked License 3rd Offense, and Reckless Driving. He will be sentenced by the Honorable Clayburn Peeples on June 29 and faces up to 30 years in prison, consecutive to his pending Violation of Probation revocation out of Tipton County Circuit Court on a ten-year sentence for Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

On January 6, 2022, Matthew Bond (23) was driving on Highway 179/Stanton-Koko Road to buy food to take with him to work at Black and Decker, when he was struck by a vehicle driven by Brandon Sensabaugh (37). Sensabaugh was driving 106 miles per hour on an icy road while under the influence of Co***ne, Ma*****na, and Alcohol. The defendant drove into Bond’s lane of travel and violently impacted Bond’s vehicle, causing Bond to be trapped until first responders could extricate him. Tragically, Mr. Bond passed away at the scene. Bond’s toxicology report showed that he had no drugs or alcohol in his system. Sensabaugh claimed that his passenger, who was ejected from the car as it lost control, was the driver. THP’s Critical Incident Response Team, through technical analysis that involved forensic evidence, physics, and math, proved to the Jury that Sensabaugh was the driver of the vehicle.

“Our hearts go out to the family of Matthew Bond, who was a beloved son, friend, and hard-working member of the Haywood County Community. We thank the Jury for holding the defendant accountable for taking this young man’s life. I also thank our trial team, especially the members of the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s Critical Incident Response Team, for their hard work on a very technical case that required months of dedicated investigation and analysis. This was a senseless homicide that took a life with immense future promise. We will petition the Court to sentence Sensabaugh to the maximum penalty under the law, given the defendant’s prior record.”

To the People of Brownsville and Haywood County,

Please remember our necessary and successful prosecution of Kevion Davis and Bishop Owens. Davis and Owens murdered 16-year-old Christine Michael, an Honor Student at Haywood County High School, and both are now sentenced to serve decades in prison at the West Tennessee State Penitentiary and Bledsoe County Correctional Complex.

Our Office’s top priority is prosecuting violent crimes, especially against vulnerable victims in our community, and Haywood County should never accept allowing senseless gun crime by wannabe gangbangers, particularly against our children, to go unpunished.

We need your help with bringing the murderer of Saturah Hayes to justice. We know that the Haywood County Moms and Dads understand that Saturah could have been your child. If your loved one was at Webb Banks Park on the evening of Friday, May 8, talk to them about what they saw and check their cell phones. Please help your child to do the right thing by helping us hold the shooter accountable for the murder of Saturah Hayes and the shooting of the six others.

If you have information about Saturah’s tragic murder, please reach out to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations at 1-800-TBI-FIND and anonymously report what you know.

*Tobias Hodge Motion for New Trial Denied*

GIBSON COUNTY, TN-- On May 4, 2026, in the Circuit Court of Gibson County, the Honorable Clayburn Peeples denied Defendant Tobias Hodge’s Motion for a New Trial. October 9, 2025, after a three-day jury trial, Hodge was convicted of Aggravated R**e, Attempted R**e, Aggravated Assault, Especially Aggravated Burglary, Theft of Property, False Imprisonment, and Interference with Emergency Communications. He was sentenced to a total effective sentence of 58 years to serve in the Tennessee Department of Correction. This case now moves on to the Criminal Court of Appeals.

On March 1, 2024, Hodge left his residence on McDearmon Avenue in Humbolt, armed with a serrated kitchen knife. He walked to another house on North Street where two young females resided and forcefully entered their home through the kitchen window. He then went to one of the victim’s bedrooms and used the knife to stab that victim multiple times. During the attack, Hodge was confronted by the other victim, who he then forced back into her bedroom to r**e her. Hodge later attempted to r**e the other stabbing victim. Hodge then forced the r**e victim to drive him back to his residence, where he remained until law enforcement took him into custody once the victim was able to seek help.

This case was prosecuted by District Attorney General Frederick H. Agee and Assistant District Attorney Nina Seiler.

*Joshua Todd Sentenced*

GIBSON COUNTY, TN-- On May 4, 2026, in the Circuit Court of Gibson County, the Honorable Clayburn Peeples sentenced Defendant Joshua Todd to the maximum sentence for his convictions, to serve in the Tennessee Department of Correction: 10 years for Aggravated Assault, 11 months and 29 days for Assault on a First Responder, and 6 months for Resisting Arrest, all to be served consecutively, for a total sentence of 11 and a half years. During his incarceration, Todd will also have access to mental health treatment.

On October 12, 2021, Todd and his girlfriend parked their truck in a field down the road from Simmons Trailer Park in Trenton. They were living out of their vehicle after Todd convinced his girlfriend to abandon her residence and give away most of her personal property. Todd became increasingly aggressive, telling the victim that she had “serpent eyes” that needed to be removed. She fled from the vehicle, but he gave chase and attacked her, violently gouging out her left eyeball and throwing it on the ground. He attempted to gouge out her right eye, but she was able to break free and run to a friend’s camper. Law enforcement responded and took Todd into custody after a struggle, where Todd used force against one of the officers, knocking off his bodycam. The victim underwent emergency surgery on her orbital socket, requiring a full prosthetic eye replacement.

“Joshua Todd is a violent, dangerous offender who needs to be removed from our community for as long as his convictions allowed, which is what Judge Peeples gave him. We hope this provides some sense of justice for the victim, who must live with the physical repercussions and mental trauma of what Todd did to her.”

-Frederick H. Agee, District Attorney General

This case was prosecuted by Asst. District Attorneys Nina Seiler and Jacob London.
