Yesterday during our Base Safety Meeting, we had the privilege of recognizing a remarkable career milestone. This month, Chris Carter celebrates 15 years of dedicated service as a Flight Paramedic with Air Evac.

For the past 15 years, Chris has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to clinical excellence, exceptional patient care, and the communities we are honored to serve. His professionalism, leadership, and dedication embody the values of Air Evac and have made a lasting impact on countless patients, families, and colleagues.

Today we were honored to host our 2026 National EMS Week cookout. We spent the day with many of our friends and family members celebrating the privilege of serving our communities with pride.

EMS is often the overlooked part of the medical world, but for this one week each year, we pause long enough to reflect on the impact each of us has made in the lives of people experiencing some of their worst days.

To everyone who was able to attend, thank you for coming! “Thank you” will never truly be enough for all that you do every day, and a cookout could never repay the dedication and sacrifices made by EMS professionals. We simply hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did.

We are proud to serve beside the very best of the best. Happy National EMS Week 2026!

As we prepare to start 2026 EMS Week, we are reminded that we can celebrate EMS Week because of the great EMT’s, Paramedics, RN’s, Pilots, and Medical Directors that work day and night to serve the communities where we live. Without individuals who selflessly give, it would be impossible to provide the services that we do.

We want to spend this week celebrating everyone who is now or has ever served in EMS. From all of us at Air Evac 85, THANK YOU!!!

Keep an eye out for your chance to win a great Air Evac 85 gift basket and don’t forget to stop by on Wednesday from noon to 5 for some great food! The menu includes pulled pork, coleslaw, baked beans, mac and cheese, cheese burgers, and homemade desserts! We hope to see you there!!!

Last night we were able to land on a new helipad at an old LZ in Mingo County. For months the local fire departments have been working to get this helipad open and ready to be used and they have done a wonderful job improving the landing zone for the citizens of the area. Special thanks to Stat EMS, Beech Creek VFD, Matewan VFD, Wharncliff VFD, and Baisden VFD.
