Happy Fall Break, Huskies!

Ritenour schools will be closed Oct. 29 – Nov. 2 for Fall Break. Students will also be off on Tuesday, Nov. 3, while our teachers and staff participate in professional development on Election Day.

We hope all of our Ritenour students, families and staff enjoy some time to relax, recharge and make wonderful fall memories!

We can't wait to welcome our Huskies back to classrooms on Wednesday, Nov. 4!

How can Ritenour fund improvements without changing the school district's tax rate?

It's all about long-term financial planning!

Proposition I: As Ritenour pays off debt from previous bond issues, the district can fund new building improvements without changing the current tax rate.
Proposition N: With much of its previous building debt paid off, Ritenour can shift a portion of its existing tax rate from debt payments to day-to-day school operations while continuing to meet its remaining debt obligations.

If passed by voters on Nov. 3, neither proposition would increase the school district's overall tax rate.

Look for Propositions I and N at the end of your ballot next Tuesday!

If you plan to be out of town on Election Day, you can vote early at polling sites noted on the St. Louis County Board of Elections website.

One week from today, Ritenour has two propositions on the Nov. 3 ballot: Proposition I and Proposition N. Be sure to look for both measures at the end of your ballot! Neither will change the school district tax rate for residents. Remember to vote on Nov. 3!

Thursday, Oct. 29: PreK-12 Morning Conferences/NO SCHOOL
Friday, Oct. 30: Fall Break/No School/District Closed
Monday, Nov. 2: Fall Break/No School/District Closed
Tuesday, Nov. 3: No School/Professional Development; Election Day - Ritenour School District has two propositions on the Nov. 3 ballot: Proposition I and Proposition N. Remember to vote on Nov. 3 and look for both measures at the end of your ballot!

Please contact your child’s school for details about the format for conferences and specific times when teachers will be meeting with parents and students.

How do school bond issues affect students and staff?

Bond issues help school districts pay for major building repairs, renovations and improvements over time, rather than covering those large expenses all at once.
This also allows schools to focus more of their day-to-day operating budgets on teaching and learning.

Ritenour's Proposition I is a $42 million bond issue on the Nov. 3 ballot designed to support improvements to district facilities.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3! Look for Proposition I and Proposition N at the very end of your ballot.

Here are 3 Things to Know about Ritenour Proposition I+N on the Nov. 3 ballot!

1. Two Propositions. Two Different Purposes.
Proposition I: $42 Million Bond Issue
Funds would be used for building maintenance and renovations, HVAC and window replacements, safety and security improvements, technology, furniture and other facility projects throughout the district.

Proposition N: Tax Transfer
Would transfer 15 cents of existing tax revenue from the district’s debt service fund to its operating fund in 2027 and again in 2030. Operating funds pay for expenses such as salaries, classroom supplies and student services.

2. Both = Zero tax rate change.
Both propositions would use the district’s existing tax rate. Neither measure would increase the current Ritenour School District tax rate.

3. Voters decide each proposition separately. You will find them at the end of the ballot.

Remember to vote! Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026.

Twenty-seven Ritenour High School Huskies made history yesterday while participating in their first Special Olympics Unified Champion Golf Tournament at Topgolf in Chesterfield. Our Special Olympian golfers buddied up with students in the National Honor Society and the Unified PE class for a great day of golf, making new friends and learning new skills together. Ritenour High School was first recognized as a Special Olympics Unified Champion school in 2024 for its commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where students with disabilities can learn, grow, and thrive together. A big shoutout goes to our Special School District and Ritenour teachers who always work together to provide so many wonderful opportunities for all of our students.

We just launched season 2 of our Hall Pass podcast!

Hall Pass features Superintendent Dr. Chris Kilbride and Board of Education Student Representative Giana Fouché.

Together, they bring listeners behind the scenes of Ritenour life - connecting families, students, staff and the community through authentic conversations about education, leadership and student voice. This month they provided information about the upcoming Prop I+N zero rate change bond issue and tax transfer.

No-excuse, in-person absentee voting also begins Oct. 20 for registered voters who would like to cast their ballot before Election Day.
