Good Dads Good Dads is a nonprofit with a mission to help kids and communities one dad at a time.

Good Dads began when business leaders in Springfield, Missouri recognized the impact of father absence on child well-being and came together for the purpose of supporting engaged fathers. They understand the value in helping fathers become more engaged with their children. They welcome the chance to promote father involvement in a way that benefits them, their customers and their community. They appreciate the potential to provide leadership in ways unique to their position.

Without a doubt, you've been feeling the price at the pumps and in stores. The cost of everything is going up. But after many years of being overlooked, we are noticing a shift in the attitude around fathers.

Indeed, communities across the country are beginning to recognize the tremendous impact engaged fathers have. The value of a dad is going up, and we're glad to be a part of it.

Friday was a perfect example of community-building through togetherness, and we're so grateful to the dedicated Good Dads facilitators who joined us for this all-day training. Way to go!

Our newest program, Good Dads +Us and Good Dads FORGE, have a life-changing element: economic stability education. In order to make sure our facilitators, mentors and case managers across the state had everything they needed to serve fathers in their respective communities, we partnered with two nonprofits whose pioneering work in financial literacy is going to make all the difference for Good Dads participants and their families.

Our gratitude to leaders at Drew Lewis Foundation (RISE Program) and Victory Mission (Work-Ready BootCamp) for making this training event so chock-full of tools and skills our facilitators will take back with them and incorporate into their workshops.

Some moms struggle to "get" horseplay between Dad and Kid because she might be worried someone could get hurt. But research shows that roughhousing with dad plays a crucial role in development.

It's the most important time of the year for fathers everywhere with Father's Day right around the corner. Just in time to celebrate the holiday, our subscribers should keep an eye out from a letter from Good Dads!

In this special delivery, we share why there are plenty of reasons to feel hopeful about the state of responsible fatherhood efforts across Missouri and beyond. ( We also give a wink-wink, nudge-nudge for all the ways you can get involved with Good Dads this summer!)

This week on the show we welcome seasoned dad Terry Weber, who's observed his four-year-old is learning a thing or two from his tween-agers! Children around this age are little sponges, soaking up information from the world around them, which occasionally means some unexpected vocabulary words! 🫢

Terry is also the director of the student union at Missouri State University, so throughout this episode he dispenses a lot of wisdom (in a hilarious way, we might add) about the ways helping college students has changed the way he views his role as a father.
