IT’S A MATCH!! 🎉 Meet Superior (Little) and John (Big)! 💚

After waiting 481 days, Superior officially has a Big Brother!

Superior is a smart, witty, and energetic young man who enjoys playing games, basketball, spending time outdoors, and staying active. He was looking forward to having a Big Brother who could share new experiences, enjoy fun activities, and consistently be there for him. 🏀🎮🌳

John works in cybersecurity at Bass Pro Shops and is passionate about mentorship and making a positive difference in the lives of young people. With his interests in retro video games, outdoor adventures, and casual sports, John and Superior already have plenty in common.

For their first outing, they explored Bass Pro Shops together, an exciting start to what we hope will become a lasting and meaningful friendship!

We can’t wait to see the adventures, conversations, and memories ahead for John and Superior. 💚

💚 Thank You Thursday – Board Member Edition 💚

This week, we're shining the spotlight on Adam! Some people serve on a board. Adam rolls up his sleeves and serves wherever he is needed.

Whether he is helping plan and support The BIG Taste year after year, stepping up to join the Think Big Board, offering ideas and guidance as a BBBSO Board Member, or answering the call when one of our unexpected "honey-do" projects pops up around the office, Adam is always willing to help.

What we appreciate most about Adam is his quiet dependability. He doesn't do it for recognition...he simply shows up, follows through, and finds ways to make our organization stronger. The impact of that kind of leadership reaches far beyond board meetings.

Adam, thank you for investing your time, talents, and energy into our mission. We are grateful for your willingness to jump in wherever needed and for the many ways you help create brighter futures for local youth.

⏰ : Marcus has been waiting 456 days for a Big Brother.

An awesome Nixa-area youth is ready to be matched with a caring male mentor, someone who will show up, spend time with him, and offer encouragement as he enters the middle school years. 💚

Marcus will be entering 7th grade this fall. He loves football, enjoys video games, likes outdoor activities, and is doing well in school.

What he needs most is simple:
A Big Brother who can spend time with him only 4-8 hours a month to encourage him and help him feel supported as he continues to grow, learn, and navigate this important stage of life.

🌤️🚣 We may have had our eyes on the forecast, but we beat the rain and enjoyed a wonderful morning on the water at Springfield Lake on Saturday!

Our Bigs and Littles spent time kayaking, exploring the outdoors, and creating memories together. Sometimes the best conversations happen away from screens and schedules...with nothing but a paddle, a lake, and a little adventure.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this relaxing morning. Moments like this is a reminder that BIG moments often happen in the simplest settings. 💚

This week, we are celebrating Paulina! Paulina is one of those people who cares deeply about others, and it shows in everything she does. As a former Big, current board member, and strong advocate for our mission, she understands firsthand how important it is for a young person to have someone in their corner.

She brings so much heart, positivity, and passion to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks. Whether she’s helping spread awareness about our mission, supporting events, sharing our story with others, or helping us think bigger as an organization, Paulina is always willing to step up and help however she can.

What makes her support so meaningful is that it comes from real experience and a true belief that mentorship changes lives…because she has seen it happen.

There is a soon-to-be freshman in the Ozark Area who is ready for a Big Brother! 💚

He loves:
💻 Tech, gaming, and computer programming
🌊 Swimming, hiking, and kayaking adventures
🎯 Trying new things and building confidence

He’s a curious, adventurous, and hardworking young person who is getting ready to take on high school. He has pushed through challenges, grown more confident in the water, and continues to show up and keep moving forward.

What he needs most is simple: a Big Brother who will encourage him, have fun with him, and consistently show up. Someone to explore, laugh, learn, and remind him what he’s capable of.

You don’t need to be perfect, just present. A little time can make a BIG difference! 💚
