Wilder alumni Rep. Maria Isa is a powerful example of how the Community Equity Program helps neighbors build collective power at the Capitol.

This cohort experience provides Black, Indigenous, and People of Color with the tools to advocate for state-level legislation and challenge existing systems. María Isa credits the program for growing her village and providing a supportive space to be her authentic self while fighting for social justice.

Whether you are a lifelong resident or a new community organizer, your unique perspective is needed to help Minnesota. We invite you to join our next cohort and find your own path in policy leadership. Right now, Minnesota policymakers are grappling with how to implement new federal rules for Medicaid, including requiring some folks to report how many hours they work or volunteer.

They must act this year to protect access to health care by reducing bureaucracy, providing clear definitions and guidance, and streamlining processes so people continue to receive the health care they need with limited disruptions and red tape.
