There’s nothing like the Minnesota State Fair to bring people together! We had a great time celebrating the 15th annual Military Appreciation Day, connecting with Veterans, military families, and fairgoers from across Minnesota.

This year’s theme, “Your Neighbors, Our Community – Honoring All Service Members,” felt especially fitting for the work we do every day.

The Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) Board of Directors is pleased to announce Michael Wickman as its next President and Chief Executive Officer. Wickman brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across military, government, and community settings, including strategic planning, organizational leadership, governance, and partnership development.

Wickman succeeds retiring President and CEO Neal Loidolt and will lead MACV as the organization continues its statewide work to end Veteran homelessness. As President and CEO, he will oversee MACV’s strategic direction, operations, partnerships, and continued efforts to help Veterans across Minnesota achieve long-term housing stability.

Between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., attorneys, MACV staff, County Veteran Service Officers, and child support officers will be available throughout the day to assist and advise Veterans on their legal issues.
